Another New Set Of Front Mission Evolved Screens

You see that? That’s a skull on top of a Wanzer! The Magic Box recently unloaded a whole set of new screens for Front Mission Evolved, including what appears to be the ability to put a skull paint scheme on your Wanzer’s head. Talk about intimidating your opponents. Though the feature seems to exist for NPC units in the story, we have reason to believe the option will be unlockable for players for their personal enjoyment. Cryptic Kotobukiya Tweet: Hint Of Next AC Model?

A short cryptic tweet from Kotobukiya may hint of a new upcoming Armored Core model kit that might make its debut on September, possibly during Wonder Festival. The message above has a few keywords that might make it easier for AC fans to decipher, these include “2, and Blue” your speculation is as good as ours, but our guess is a Variable Infinity edition of Armored Core 2’s cover AC Ethermaster as seen after the jump:

Grendizer Returns

What you can expect here is a (rather) short CG re-make of the classic 70’s Super Robot anime Grendizer. While lacking the production values of the Gaiking trailer, this one has an actual short fight scene and perhaps a gritty preview of things to come if this project continues. This short video was created by C4D Team Animation Studio for the 30th anniversary of Grendizer in Italy (Apparently Grendizer and giant robots in general have quite a following in Italy). The video itself is quite entertaining, give it a view and compare it to the original 70’s opening after the jump:

Don’t have Weak Abs – Build an “Armored Core”

Not quite what mech gamers will expect. Despite the similar trademark names, Mike The Machine (Author of the video) will show you how to build your abdominal muscles through his “Armored Core” training program. The video demonstrates procedures on increasing your load capacity (400lb sit-ups), how to bulletproof your AC (Ab smashing with a bowling ball) and further enhancing the flexibility and endurance of your parts (various exercises) which will only strengthen your developed Armored Core.

Trademark similarities aside, Mike “The Machine” Bruce seems to be an accomplished athlete enough to create an exercise program that focuses on developing your muscles from your chest to your pelvis (I mean, just look at the dude). If you ever feel like getting ripped, and smashing rocks like blowing up MTs, just trust the “Armored Core” name to get the job done. You can order the totally non- Armored Core related exercise video here. View a short video from the DVD after the jump:

E3 Front Mission Evolved Multiplayer Gameplay

Here we see footage of a multiplayer demo of the upcoming mech shooter Front Mission Evolved coming from the recent E3 expo in the USA. Based on the trailer, we can definitely expect fast paced Wanzer gliding action, and a more arcade feel than an actual mech simulator. Of course, this is only a small preview of what to expect as Square Enix promises more in-depth tactical gameplay with the various Wanzer classes available to the player. Hit the jump for the video:

GA Sunshine Model Kit Confirmed

Oh you’re my only sunshine! The GA SUNSHINE model kit we were hoping to exist will indeed materialize soon. The kit seems to feature a dessert tan finish, two sets of two weapons (CHEYENNE-02 missiles and the basic GA bazooka), which makes it essentially a stripped down version of the game version’s weapons (much like the Rosenthal kit prior to the Noblese Oblige release). Still we’re pretty excited for this one.

Also, an awesome looking Frame Arms model kit which looks like it can exist in the realm of Armored Core as well. Frame Arms picture after the jump:

Armored Core Championship Tournament Season 3 Finals Result

The results of a Japanese nationwide Armored Core: Last Raven Portable tournament held last May 29 are finally in, gathering 8 ravens from all over Japan to one tournament to find out who is indeed the Last Raven.

A Dengeki Online coverage of the tournament noted some observations from PS2 PvP games of ACLR, most significant is the greater difficulty of aerial battles due to the limitations of the PSP’s button configuration, making the look-up and look-down functions a bit more awkward compared to the PS2 version.

In addition, there is greater emphasis on range control, or darting in and out of one’s effective weapons range to dish out damage instead of short range slug-fests. Much of the player victories are attributed to AP lead instead of destroying an opponent’s AC.

In line with the celebrations, a web poll was conducted asking fans who they think will win the grand championship. Fan speculations turned out accurate, with the winner of the fan poll also being the winner of the tournament as well. Hit the jump to find out who the champion is and watch the fight videos:

Armored Core: Limit Relase Fangame Update

Though updates are irregular, Armored Core: Limit Release is shaping up to be a nice working fangame. The game uses the Unreal 3 game engine, and at the moment the game has a few rendered parts for in-game demonstrations and will eventually feature AC customization (The famous Karasawa series of laser rifles is at least confirmed to be in the game). At its current state it is still far from playable, but given the work progress and the animations presented, Armored Core: Limit Release promises to deliver an authentic Armored Core experience as seen in the trailer after the jump:
