Kotaku has reported that Kojima Productions announced that certain boss characters in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP will drop items that can be used by the giant Wanzers in Front Mission Evolved, hinting at the PSP and PS3 connectivity between the two games. For the 360 version of FME, we suspect this will be turned into a DLC if it isn’t an exclusive arrangement between Konami and Square-Enix.
We here in RR would like to think bigger regarding this partnership, so we’re further hoping for something like the Shagohod featured in MGS: Snake Eater or some new Metal Gear being featured in Peace Walker becoming side bosses in FME, much like how the popular Monster Hunter’s Tigrex will be appearing as special boss characters in MGS: Peace Walker. As much as the FME/MGS boss crossover is improbable, we would like to keep hoping that the possibility is still there.
That, or we’ll be happy just having a Big Boss avatar for on-foot characters.

FG Site recently sponsored an Armored Core model making competition, and the results are nothing less than what we would feature in our Now That’s An Armored Core series. It comes to no surprise that the top placer was 507, the same person who built the very awesome Black Rain and Cronus Vestal. Hit the jump for the top placers as well as another honorable mention.

The Japanese Front Mission Evolved site recently released a new batch of in-game screen caps of the upcoming Front Mission Evolved, which show that hover types and 4-legged Wanzer legs will be making a comeback in the upcoming installment of the Front Mission Franchise. No news on how this may affect Wanzer movement and game play like in previous Front Mission titles. More screen shots after the jump:

A Hollywood treatment of the classic super robot anime Gaiking was recently announced at the Tokyo International Anime Fair. From the trailer, it looks like this classic super robot show will be getting a very gritty treatment and will feature current generation movie CGI. Gaiking is probably more known outside Japan as part of the Force Five series which also included other famous super robots such as Dangard Ace (Planetary Robot Dangard Ace) Starvengers (Getter Robo G) Grandizer (UFO Robot Grendizer) Spaceketeers (Starzinger).
