Shortly after the live demo last May 13th, lots of additional information on Armored Core V was released through the Famitsu site. The details of the article have since been translated and posted by an anonymous poster on popular imageboard 4Chan, and then graciously shared to us by Niji of Armored Core Universe. And now we pass on this information to you.

Armored Core V’s live demo was finally aired last night, much to the delight of Armored Core fans everywhere. See the video below in case you missed it or want to watch it again.
The footage showcases such things as the shin-shield, fold-out sniper rifles, wall-jumps, quick boosts and overboosts, and even an AC shoulder tackle or knee strike.
The latest issue of Famitsu magazine reveals several bits of new information, such as a closed beta testing period before the game’s release some time in October, 2011 and the ¥7,800 retail price. A live demo of the game is also scheduled for streaming tomorrow, May 13th, from 21:00 until 23:00 (UTC+9).
Meanwhile, the Armored Core Facebook page was recently updated with lots of new screenshots, which reveal quite a bit about the game. Some of the more interesting ones are featured below.
New information on Armored Core V, such as a new Mercenary System, has recently been revealed on several Japanese gaming sites, which unfortunately, we can’t understand. But there’s always Cacophanus of Mecha Damashii, who was, as usual, gracious enough to fill in the details for the English-speaking crowd. Head on over there to read about it.
The only bit of information that we can add comes from a comment on Armored Core Official stating that AC-assembly is now possible mid-sortie. How exactly this will be handled is yet to be revealed.
Meanwhile, I’ve compiled most of the new screenshots for your convenience and enjoyment.
Despite the recent cancellation of the Armored Core V Demo due to the ongoing earthquake/tsunami/nuclear crisis in Japan, From Software still seems to be hard at work on AC5 Development.
Over the last few days, Armored Core 5’s official facebook page has been updated with new screenshots showcasing the interface for AC operators.
We’ve fallen a bit behind in our humble coverage of the anticipated Armored Core V partly due to our recent domain renewal issues. But thankfully, we’re back online. And the ever reliable source for all things mecha straight from Japan, Mecha Damashii, has been more than up to date with information.
The latest pieces of Armored Core V news, as revealed in AC’s revamped website, show that the game will play out permanently online, with AC teams on the ground and operators to guide them.
Imagine that Armored Core could be played professionally as a recognized e-sport.
Imagine players (Ravens!) duking it out on stage to a massive crowd, and with a live commentated broadcast for television and the internet. There’d be organized teams complete with coaches and support staff and matching uniforms and gear from sponsors. Hordes of screaming fan girls (and boys) would be lined up for an autograph or photo of their favorite players. Ravens would be traveling the world to play on tournaments with lewd prize pools at stake.
Well imagine no more, as all that is actually already happening…
A gun-totting, rollin’ machine of death apparently. Much like their past AC incarnations, tanks in AC5 will appear to be all about guns, guns, and guns. Strangely enough, there has been no sign of any laserblades that were prominent in all previous games.
