Games Workshop, the owner of the Warhammer 40K franchise, is working with Codex pictures to produce a full length Warhammer 40K film. Here’s an excerpt from the Ultramarines movie website:
“INTRODUCING ULTRAMARINES : A WARHAMMER 40,000 MOVIE!
The moment fans have been waiting for is finally here… for the first time, the Warhammer 40,000 universe will be realised in a feature-length movie on DVD.
Ultramarines is a 70-minute sci-fi thriller that will use CGI and state-of-the-art animation production techniques. Games Workshop is delighted to be working with UK-based production company Codex Pictures, who have the momentous task of bringing the Warhammer 40,000 universe to the screen.”
That’s all the info up to this date. We’ll cover more of it as soon as more info pops up. It is interesting to note that this is not the first attempt to make a CGI Warhammer 40K. The first attempt was to make a film based on the Bloodquest graphic novel series, but has since been shaffed when the studio managing the film was dissolved. We’ll hope for the best when the Ultramarines film gets released in the future.
