Transformers: War for Cybertron Trailer is Promising

Let’s take a quick break from all the Armored Core 5 news for a while, and remember that Activision is bringing a new and promising Transformers game to us. Trailer after the jump.

Trinity, Help!

Remember the scene in The Matrix where Neo first displays signs of being the One? I think that was one of the first few scenes in movie history that really made good use of bullet-time effects.

Fast forward a few years later, and someone’s made a tribute video. Not content to be mediocre however, it was decided that no fewer than 440 hours of work should be put in to make it. And that LEGO should be used as the building blocks of the recreation. We salute you, LegoMatrix.

As always, for more awesome Internet finds, head on over to the Project Awesome thread in the forums.

Volpin Props Make Me Salivate

Show me a person who’s played Fallout 3, and I’ll show you someone who won’t be able to resist this AER9 Laser Rifle replica. Heck I’m sure even some of those who haven’t played the game won’t be able to resist this. Just look at it! It’s literally having the same damn thing (except it doesn’t fry people to charred skeletons). This one, along with many other video game-inspired swag, was created by Harrison “Volpin” Krix. More samples of his work and links after the jump.

You’d wanna see this, trust me.

Evolution

Evolution is a wonderful thing, don’t you think?

We here at the Raven Republic certainly think so. It’s what we’ve thrived on these past few years, growing from a small online community who didn’t know each other personally, to a (still relatively) small online community, but tighter-knit this time.

Once we were all about just Armored Core, and with no real intention to speak to each other beyond those terms. Now we’ve realized that the wealth of other interesting stuff exists to talk about, even if we’re just talking about mecha. And that’s not all we’re talking about now.

So I guess that’s what this new change represents. Growth in a newer, more open direction. Specifically, into the bigger realm of mecha, anime, and video games. And food. Glorious, delicious food.

We’re still an Armored Core fanbase though, and a rather loyal one at that. The recent revival of Armored Core on the PSP has us all excited. I realize not all AC players like this new development, but as what’s been proven time and again over AC’s lifetime, you can’t please everyone with a single release.

So with that, I bid you welcome to the new and improved RR! Evolution is a wonderful thing.

LEGO Armored Core

We have a bit of a LEGO theme going on here. But here’s a nice change of pace: this one’s actually related to Armored Core.

Flickr user bermudafreze‘s photostream sports a couple of recent shots of three ACs (one quad, two bipeds) made from LEGO. They’re pretty detailed, and are mostly faithful to for Answer-era parts. See more after the jump.

YOU SHOULD HAVE PAIDED MY BIKE MONEY!!!1

EPIC.

Thanks to AppleHead for the pic.
