Armored Core 5

Seriously, From leaves us in the dark and shows us this! This is our moment guys! AC5 better push through or I’ll have to start threatening Fromsoft with real bullets. We love the way they portrayed ACs as military machines part of an etire combat unit instead of a simple one-robot-army, and this really gets us excited.

Here comes the awesome, so From better get this one right. Oh, and enjoy some screenshots from Kotaku as well.

hmmm looks good…still sad that the AC’s are so small now..but from those screenshots it looks like there will be some good multiplayer elements…

It’s weird seeing ACs as fat, stubby war machines. I guess I’ve been spoiled by all the previous renditions wherein they stood tall. :O

Still, I like the (apparent) squad-action they’re trying to put in there – if they are trying to put that in. Maybe this’ll be our AC and FME fix all rolled into one game.

That goddamned weapon looks so powerful… but it’s being used against choppers so what do we know.

They prolly gonna use it against ACs too. Seems like cover will be more important than ever given that thing can seemingly swat down fast moving choppers.

but do we get to be called ravens again?

  • Raven

Wow.. Bandai’s in this one, we can’t blame Fromsoftware alone now if this thing sucks =)

The core at the end looks like something taken from the old-school ACs rather than NEXTs (UL/NER from the looks of it).
Looks like they managed to salvage the tech from back then (ACLR). After all, Ravens did get wiped out, except for one. I’ve also noticed the ACs aren’t wielding any laser tech, perhaps they lost it?

Likely (and confirmed by Nabeshima in a developer interview) that AC5 is another reboot of the series with no connection with previous titles. Sad though, since the PS2 generation (AC3-AC:LR) had the longest and prolly the biggest universe of any AC game series.

Maaan, the details of AC5 are mind boggling. It’s unlike anything ever done before in Armored Core. I’ll have to make a post of it soon.

god I hope this is a good AC game,
not that I’ve never enjoyed any AC game, but 4 and 4A didn’t keep me in as much as any of the PS2 era games did

    AC5 looks awesome though!

Aside from the gameplay, i’m starting to salivate just thinking of the model kits they’ll be making for this.

My all-time favorite A.C. game is still Last Raven, I hope that this one tops it though. It’s too bad my P.S. 3 died… after having seen the various AC 5 vids and details, I consider the recent malfuction of my PS 3 to be a great peotic-injustice.
