Save yourself the misery and don't give them moving parts. They ain't necessary anyway. Thanks for the hard work, man. Happy
Gar, Hydra2 and those small parts you lost [and didn't find stuck in your ass] complete. Fitting lang.
took both of my rest days but finally got around to assembling the "Gundoom"

pix: (might stretch the page if the boards do not auto-resize them to fit)

i like the plastic used coz its easy to cut with the cutter, but hard enough to not be easily deformed. the way the joints are made tho are different from a bandai model so posing it felt a bit awkward. one thing i notice tho is all the parts stuck nicely and i didnt have parts falling off or are too loose. finally i got it for only Php 850. its not a bandai unit, but its definitely on par.
Nope, not a Bandai piece, since this is essentially a recast of a garage-made resin kit that was put out a few years ago by an independent company, so it's not exactly a pirated kit at all. All good though since the quality rivals that of the actual HGUC RX-93 that came out back in '09. All good stuff though. Happy

Nice to see what the finished unit looks like, especially since i haven't even started on mine yet. LOL
Jointage fail courtesy of Mcfarlane Toys. I'm replacing the pegs with styrene tubes because the ones that came with the figure are either cracked/ loose.

Another one I received earlier also came with manufacturing defects Facepalm

That's one thing I don't like with ready-made figures sometimes.
How crispy/brittle was the plastic anyway?
The ones used for the joints(abs) are very brittle. One peg broke off from the Jyaaku figure when I was trying to pose the legs. See how badly warped where it is supposed to be connected.

Yeah. Looked like he was run over by a motorbike.
They should change their plastic. They're pretty lucky some guys like you know how to fix their crappy molding.
Hahah that's some amazing modding/repair. If that were me, I'd probably just look at it and cry at my own helplessness.
Styrene: the one thing that no modder should ever be without. Until now, i'm still amazed at the number of things you could do with it. Woot

Aside from the molding there's the age of the plastic especially the softer ones seem to succumb to gravity and heat over time(the dragon figure never came out of the box for nearly a decade). Also Mcfarlane failed to catch up with his competitors when it comes to articulation and it's no wonder why they stopped producing spawn figures nowadays.
So, there's this old Tallgeese III I have since 2003. It was from a godmother who died a few years back. Being the sentimental and destructive guy that I am, I decided to pick this up for modding back in 2009. But after realizing my skills aren't sharp enough yet, I worked on some other stuff before got back to this guy.

I can buy as many Tallgeese III's as I want, but this is the only one that's like this in the world.

Also, check the body. It's a clear and metallic version. The clear parts are so damned brittle. Actually, some of the clear parts are already destroyed via cracks and I have to build a lot of parts from scratch with only pictures for reference.
So are you modding it into a leo?

Something more like a Tallgeese IV.

There were a lot of damage during my very first fitting. That's why I have to make a lot of new parts. The crotch gave out, the boosters got lost, the weapons are nowhere to be found, this will take a while of non-stop shaving and cutting. Luckily, I have lots of HI plastic sheets.

Lots of surplus stuff to be found in my armory. Come on over one time if you want to have your MS outfitted.
