XD i have a similiar case in MMO RPGs
though instead of a bloody brit they just usually assume a random 40+ yr old living somewhere in the states
they tend to be surprissed your pinoy when i just tell i am pinoy, just gotten used to using english if its internet/chat thingy
though i tend to mispell XD at least its english rather than using the dreaded jejemon and i love using the "XD""

roughly a week ago Twinskies and my mom went to some sort of dinner thing with my moms friends appareantly one of the guest there has a studio that develop games
i have to thank TwinSkies and my mom for mentioning me during that dinner and giving me the calling card of the indie game developer group, the studio needs 3d artist
the thing that caught my attention is when i checked their website its the same group that won 1st place in the microsoft 2010 game development contest somewhere in the states i wonder what they did with the prize money XD i think the prize money for that contest was 20k us dollars...or was it a different contest XD
So yeah talked to the well not sure what position the person is it just said "mentor" on the calling card
first time ive seen a calling card that has mentor as a job title XD we will be meeting after new year to give my portforlio and such
another good news is whatever skills i am lacking he/the studio is willing to train me since they've reviewed my resume and online portforlio thing so far it shows promise and i am willing to learn anyways
made some interesting Acquaintances in the net and real life this year O_O for short while i didnt notice some the people i met online or that criticised the artworks/works in progress i post worked on big name movies/companies/studios and such like the golden compass, blizzard and etc cant mention their net name i was just surprised when i browsed their profile

since its some sort indie group that make games on iphones and such
1. they dont have a physical studio since they just started, so for now its going to be more like a freelance/fulltime home based work thingy if i do get in the group i sure hope i do though but they do plan to have their own physical location in the future
2. its a pretty new group but not bad for a new group that already won 1st place in the microsoft 2010 game development contest
3. games for iphones...which means will be working on not so powerfull units, so low poly count models, etc mostly concept driven games
so far ive been making personal high poly count artworks XD designed for film, or games for stronger consoles like a ps3,xbox etc you get the idea
so this may take a while to get used to
to put it a simpler undestanding imagine your used to making grand large artworks/paintings but the job only requires on the scale of magic cards
4. i am not sure if there will be pay ill just ask during the meet after the new year, its a indie group anyways so yeah not sure if there will be pay
