Hey Cabs, my family's set to go to tokyo on May 18. Can you give me a short list of nice places to visit?
05-08-2008, 05:03 AM
Thank you for all the comments and suggestions guys )
Hearing all the positive responses makes this experiment a success
Actually, that wing custom project was entirely experimental since it was my first time doing a lot of stuff:
1st time building a Master Grade gundam kit (no kidding )
1st time I gave a gundam kit a bath
1st time I didn't follow the instruction manual page by page/ piece by piece
1st time doing a full scale paint job of a gundam kit
1st time applying a customized paint design
1st time doing a detailed inking (lining) work
1st time putting up decals
1st time using modeling tools rather than improvised ones (ex. nail cutter, ordinary scissors, etc...)
and many more...
Given that I still have time to spare, I'll probably start my next project:
Unicorn Gundam Cabs Custom
other than what i hear or see on the TV or internet. Try visiting this site
Tokyoessentials
it contains lots of information on the different areas in tokyo. They even
included information of the schedule and cost of attractions in the given
areas and on how to go there (instructions on train routes).
I'll give u some advice: "don't convert the Yen price tags to Peso
except if they are electronic gadgets or you'll end up not enjoying
your trip"

We might take the train to Osaka and stay there for day or to.
Hey Jay, how cold is it there right now? Are the evenings survivable with just a t-shirt? Or is a jacket a must? Should I worry about rain?

The temperature ranges from 15 to 22 degrees lately.
Supposedly, the temperature should get higher since summer is
coming but due to the rainy weather it doesn't.
I advise u to bring normal jackets, long sleeve t-shirts and some
inner shirts or sando (additional clothing layer) to fight of the cold.
Rain isn't much of a problem since umbrellas are readily available
in convenience stores (cheap about a 100yen) and u can roam a
commercial area without walking above ground since there are
tons of underground passages.
Pack light so u have more space for the pasalubong and the gadgets

Tools are readily available on hobby shops.
I buy mine at Yodobashi Camera
I'm currently very busy with the Unicorn model kit since
it has too many parts (almost 3x of the Wing IMO).
I also decided to change the color of the internal parts to a
lighter shade which added more complications.
This won't be finished anytime soon
I'll try to post some DEV pics later.

Alright thanks cabs! Hopefully I think I can manage walking around in just a t-shirt. XD

Well here I am finally in Japan. PAL was totally late, and the flight was super turbulent probably cuz of the storms north of the Philippines. The food totally sucked too. I was at the brink of throwing up hahah.
We didn't have any problems at the airport (even though I brought a ton of pirated dvds and even ripe mangos). At the airport, my dad's friends picked us up and we took a train and then a taxi to a flat in Chiba.
And here I am leeching from his 100mbps "basic" internet connection. Pahinga na muna for tonight.
Oh and the cold is pretty bearable. It's kinda like Tagaytay on a December evening.
