PA refresh is dependent on your Generator's Kojima Particle output. The higher the stat, the faster you PA gauge refreshes. This does not however, affect the time between an AA attack and PA refresh. Fromsoft nerfed AA at reg 1.3 (or was it 1.4?) to prevent abusive usage by significantly increasing the start of PA refresh after an AA attack, thus reducing the frequency of using AA attacks within a match. Back in 1.2 your PA begins to recharge about 3-5 seconds after an AA attack, in 1.4 PA begins to recover around 15 seconds after an AA attack. The cool down period between an AA attack and the start of PA restoration is non-alterable by any known means, and is another unlisted stat

Hey, how're shotguns in 1.4? I like them so far (what's the name of the shotgun with the lowest attack power, but hi PA damage? I like that for its PA-killing stat), but then that's vs. AI... I better start making time to go against people online noh?

Shotguns are very good in 1.4 as their spread has been significantly reduced, meaning more shots will hit and the likelihood of stunning your opponent becomes greater (SGs can stun opponents now). The light SG is prolly the best among the hand held SGs due to its PA stripping stats and tight buckshot spread, though the other hand SGs aren't so bad either. Same goes for the KAMAL back mounted slug gun which has become very useable due to its high potential damage and relatively acceptable shot spread.
Biggest factor in online matches: Lag.

Don't mind the lag,if it lags just tink the opponent dodged the shot. It'll make things more fun. There are instances where the opponent used a last second QB to evade a shot. You won't see it on your screen but he can see it on his. what a player sees is what determines the damage to his own AC but not to the opposing side. This of course does not apply to blades coz you really wont know if you got hit or not. Regarding SGs,there good against close range opponent,but not against middle ranged ACs. Fought a lot of them and i noticed that they don't touch me as long as i move a lot(even without QB) while on middle range distance
