Regarding Poe's Law, it's actually pretty simple (quoting the wiki):

Without a winking smiley or other blatant display of humor, it is impossible to create a parody of Fundamentalism that SOMEONE won't mistake for the real thing.

It basically notes that religious fundamentalism is so inherently full of batshit insanity that any attempt at making a parody, no matter how crazy, will be seen as the real thing.

What kind of search were you doing? If it's google, they usually give you geographically relevant results too, based on your IP's location.
