Website/School project idea needed :O

So I have this class, web programming. We can do anything we want for our project which is due in about 2 and a half weeks.

It has to use PHP, but it can also incorporate AJAX, Jquery and javascript.

...I still have no idea what to do xD HELP.

Preferably something that people will use

It can be game related, community service related, whatever.

Game related - Login/registration for a game?
Community service - Probably a website for voter's registration, for example?

-user-updated flood water level map thing. not just main roads and stuff. this can include neighborhoods, subdivisions etc. can help in coordinating school based relief operations.

-carpool system organizer thing (this was an actual project from another country, saw it on net25). students w/ cars can share their routes and other students can join which carpools pass by their route. i think the login info is tied to student records to ensure security.

-pakopya/paturo.net social network kind of thing geared for pairing up students willing to tutor others with those looking for help academically. users can also form study groups, as well as comment on which profs are good for which subjects, test types he/she gives out and other important information.

-student library. system where users can list books and similar resources they can lend out or sell to other students. users can also search the database to find who they can borrow books and resources from.

-dutdutan!! users can poke each other like in facebook but with a counter recording how long they have been poking each other. longer runs reward players with stuff to decorate their customizable avatars. users can also band together for raids against bosses to poke it to death and reap epic loot.

-student media library. like the other library, but this time users can swap tv shows, anime, movies, porn and the like. all trades and rentals recorded so you can be sure who has your copy of your fave series.

I think the second suggestion given by zero is the way to go, tested and practical.
