Each .600 calibre slug costs 40 dollars, with the gun costing 16k. It weighs 13 pounds. By comparison an M16 only weighs about 6.

On an OT note, it turns out that Dirty Harry loads his Model 29 revolver with lower velocity .44 Special, and not full power .44 Magnum rounds. This would actually explain why he can fire that rig one-handed without any problems . The gun's weight would also help his accuracy by eliminating felt recoil.
