Of course. Better start saving up for a PSP3k. Plus, pay my friend back for his PSP that I lost.

i have an officemate looking for a buyer for his psp. psp 2008 w/ 8gb mem card. may original boxpa. nov.2011 binili. may custom firmware na (can't remember which tho). 5.5k interested?

rave?: interview later for a GM position with IGG.

tl;dr: mid-life crisis. if they offer me the job, i'll ask for a week to think about it.
my officemate's question is stuck in my head "akala ko ba mag-aaral ka, bakit ka nag-aapply?" having doubts if i really should go get a job when i'm planning on trying for a Cisco certification. i've done some scouting around and the cheapest slow track modules for CCNA costs 9k. so four modules goes for 36k, then the exam is 30k per try. some schools however already include the exam if you enroll in their courses. it seems like a waste if i get a job and end up not being able to focus on this.

then there's getting tired of helpdesk type work. unlike when i started, nowadays i get agitated when handling emails from players. dunno if that's just because of our company turning to shit, on top of Nexon already being a shitty support service. i aimed for CCNA because i wanted to get into a different industry, or at least get out of the helpdesk type of GM. so now im asking myself, why am i signing up for this again? of course there's the option of trying the job for a month or so to see if it'll be as stressful as i think it is.

then there are the two other applications im waiting for word on. one is a researcher/encoder for an app development company, the other is for a asst. librarian/database mgr. for Lufthansa. both different career paths. both not as stressful as CSR work.

finally, there's just me wanting to take a break from it all. have fun. get some art practice. maybe do some commission work via oDesk.

what would you guys/gals do if you were in my shoes?

Rant: Just after the start of the year, a new employee was assigned to our department. I was quite enthusiastic at first since it turned out that the guy had geeky tendencies, was a gamer and could chat up a storm. As the week wore on, we found that he was surprisingly irritable at times, was remarkably insensitive with his comments and would react violently when we wanted to change conversation subject. He had a really hard time picking up on subtle humor, sarcasm, irony and even good-natured ribbing. He also has no idea what constitutes an indoor voice.

After several days of this kind of behavior, I decided to pay a visit to our personnel office to check out his file. I found out that this guy had been bouncing from workplace to workplace for most of his adult life. He was a tremendously productive employee but had multiple issues about getting along well with his colleagues. He would constantly seek attention from other people but was not able to reciprocate it properly. He would butt in on conversations that didn't concern him and then proceed to voice out his opinion in a pedantic manner even if nobody asked him about it. He would arrive at one job but would often wear out his welcome after only a few months.

Apparently, our new coworker has Asperger's Syndrome.

Dagnabit.

I have Asperger's, but this guy's personality seems more self-centered than anything else from what I've experienced, looking back I'm kind of like the opposite of this guy, a bit anti-social, minds his/her own business, tries get along with everyone, flows or at least listens with the conversation, and lastly I keep myself dug way into my work because it's so repetitive. And if you were wondering, no offense taken.

We here in RR know exactly how you guys feel. Smile

Personally, I've met people like those and the best way to deal with them is to be as frank with them as possible.

Best advice from me is to take the job that gives you the most freedom to do what you really want, I dont know you too well atm but I just base it on what you posted, you want more time to make art. If thats true, take the job that will enable you to do so. That is, if money isnt a big deal.

IMO, just choose where you feel you'll be happy, have enough freedom on your time and enough to be able to spend on what you want/need.

i work with someone like that. only difference is he doesn't react violently on topic changes. had to sit him down twice and tell him we'll fire his ass if doesn't behave (of course worded more professionally.) another GM actually peppered him with cusses* when he said something way out of line. thankfully, he's much more behaved now.

*paraphrased: putang ina kang hayop ka. tang-ina, anong gusto mong palabasin kang putang-inang kupal ka? taragis kang hayop ka, pag may pinagawa ako sa yo, tang-ina gawin mo na lang!

wut?: my interview today went really quick. i don't think it even reached 10 minutes.
rave: what this year has in store for me based on my horoscope XD
rave?: neighbor who fires guns when drunk and generally terrorizes the neighborhood was found dead this morning. died in his sleep it seems. im relieved, but somewhat also feels weird.

on the work thing:
i've decided that i won't take the IGG job. money isn't much of an issue. what i'm more worried about is my health. three years of answering tickets from annoying whiny entitled practically illiterate players has considerably shortened my patience, dulled my brain, and stressed me waaaay too much. so much so that last year i got sick twice more than the two previous years combined. i need a break, and perhaps a career change.

Rant - my eyes have been getting tired pretty quick over the past few days. Before, i could read a book for an entire afternoon and then follow it up with a few hours of gaming or watching. Now, even just a couple of hours with a book or a movie or even just browsing online is enough to put a strain on them and tire them out.

Looks like i'm gonna hafta schedule an appointment with my mother's optha-doc. Sad
