And the need to quote myself comes into play as it seems that human beings have incredibly dense cranial regions.

It does say something about their online manners though.

Just because something glitters and shines does not mean that it gets automatic respect. Especially when it comes to neophytes.

we should have something like a group lock or something for the boards. that way, only those who post and properly introduce in the appropriate thread gets put on the group with normal posting access to the boards.

Oh wow. I guess an introductory post won't really work then , seeing as how some people have such an eloquent and succinct way of dealing with online peers.

Yes, I agree with putting a lock on new members at first. I made an introduction thread first so that at least people would see if I fit here or not. It's just plain good netiquette.

I also learned quite a bit from my Filipina ex-girlfriend when she told me stories about things happening there. I believe the apt term for this situation would be jologs or epal or something close to that. Am I correct, RR?

The second term fits better than the first. Tongue

Aside from that, i'll go warm up some popcorn. LOL

Common courtesy in general even ... well I already tried my little part in bailing you out early on mr. Lazarr *sigh*. And this would be the last time.

There isn't anything wrong with introductions to break the ice right?

Pardon me being rude but you basically barged into our forum. Your main interest, as you have said is MH and not AC, is forgivable as a good number of members play it as well. Heck we have had members who joined for all sorts of reasons and not only because gaming.

Your posts at first were "energetic" which isn't bad for a new guy, kinda thought it was enthusiasm. But you have done nothing but prove me wrong, your acting like you own this place. For the record that title would go to Mix.

You still have a sliver of a chance to change how people are gonna see you, please do not waste it.

I'm for this as well, I love this place, but I treat it and the community with respect and not like it's just something you can just automatically step over. People who are new here, need time to (don't take this the wrong way) "marinate."

Introducing one's self is optional, BUT necessary as it tells a lot about the person, how we could deal with her/him.

Acting arrogantly on your first day doesn't help either. Remember that Axe commercial slogan? "First impressions last"? Fucking true.

at this point i wish we were some kind of reality tv show. you know the ones where they vote to see who gets expelled from the house/group/roster/whatever. we'd also have a list of candidates on the risk of being "evicted" XD id prolly be on it tho hahahaha

seriously tho, the stuff we have here on M.R. can be quite personal. it's a little unsettling anyone can just pop-in and read. actually i noticed some parts of the board can be accessed without a log in, dunno if M.R. is included tho.
