"
Strangely, there's a part of me that wants to study all the electives available in my current course,So many gestures and angles."
dont forget anatomy
Rave:
1. emailed the car 3d model thing job test for the online client is happy so far no problems still waiting for results though
basically if i pass the job test or so, it would work like this 50 percent down payment the rest upon submitting the 3d model
they usually charge 100-200+ dollars or so per model/textured
2. got email from EXM games, their working on a new game project that more or less needs to get done within 3 months or so
they want to me part of the team or so
but just to be on the safe told i told them i am job hunting for a full time gig and got an email few days ago for another freelance job as well need to wait for the results first
also i can probably help them model/texture relative light stuff nothing to heavy because might not have time for it...
better to be safe than sorry in anycase if this pushes through first official indie game experience
platform is the PC
kinda a mix of rant/rave
1. Assistasia like i mentioned before passed the job test but i just need a better portforlio na lng specifically more practice on texture work
got the email of their 3d lead artist, he doesnt mind he critiques my 3d artwork everytime i something new to show and want to be critiqued
2. inquired for another certain studio...they dont have full time openings as for the moment only for an android developer but they do hire freelance XD
3. asked Funguy if they have openings, yey they have openings for a 3d artist
also someone in Ph bronies is planning to go to this school
https://singapore.digipen.edu/?id=2832&proj=8713
he asked my opinion about it
i just told him good luck and have fun, do his best
but my honest opinion i remember before one of my profs and some of my friends online told me it doesnt matter what school you came from...someone who really works hard even though didnt come from a famous school can outshine one that did come from a famous or expensive school but didnt put any effort...
also remembered one of my cousin that didnt survive one year in game design Xd when i asked on his first year or so game design
"mahilig ako sa games eh" my guess was right he didnt last long in the course and he shifted to another course LOL XD because i never saw him become interested in story writting, or the creative visual art in any form , any time XD he even "tried" attending my art classes before...1st day pa lng na bored na hindi na niya tinuloy un lessons LOL XD
so far my opinion about Digi-pen after browsing through the gallery...the anatomy sketches you can probably learn that on your own, just grab an anatomy book or those anatomy workshops in U.P. and such during summer vacation
the 2d environment/character art probably you can learn through forums and such theres alot in the internet or learning traditional landscape painting helps a lot if you want to go into environment art since the basic foundations skills are still the same anyways which you can probably inquire U.P. or UST about...hmmm
as for their 3d stuff...there a million tutorials in the net, and just be active in 3d art forums and such
so yeah over all it feels like i dont need to go to fancy school to get to that level
also remember he mentioned another reason why he wants to study in Digi-pen because the makers of Portal 1 and 2 graduated from there and their profs are working proffessionals in the top industries...my point so? in the end when you apply for any studio they dont care where the hell you graduated from or what course you studied it all boils down if you can do the job or not...
