Just a little inspirational thing...
we fall down...one way or another...but the same question will always remain...how do we chose to get up?

Damn.
The rest of the series is amazing as well.

Honestly, I don't get his point. I don't see why the two cannot coexist with each other. And I'm not even a person who you'd classify as religious.

I don't think he really had a point in that first vid. He was basically saying that things are the way they are and he simply wants to know as much as he can about it, but at the same time he's completely ok with not knowing everything.
The 1st vid led me to the 2nd part, which I actually enjoyed more. Treating humans as humans. Doing things for the enjoyment of doing things rather than for recognition. It's all very idealistic, which to me is what makes it interesting.
edit: Apparently, the videos were from a video interview.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srSbAazoO...re=related Maybe some things were lost in the editing. Humanism is just something that's been very appealing to me lately.

That Known Universe video is just mind-boggling.

If it piqued your interest, you can look into
Carl Sagan's Cosmos. It's a 14-episode series about this very stuff. Most humbling thing I've ever seen.
