LR: Game Frustrations
#31
I have all but 2 tracks for LR's music On average I only listen to 3 of em.

What mostly frustrated me about LR was the fact that in ill compensation for unbalanced parts, From made all the AI have the same Human Plus abusing strategy. What's worse is they sucked horribly at it anyway.

In the way of the parts themselves, I had mostly been using one particular design in LR with minor tweaks on different ACs. Back in SL I had to impart real variety on my ACs for them to be successful.

I know what you mean, most of the hard AI are using H+. i kinda wish some AI were like Shade from SL or the one in ACNB (forgot the name of the tank AC that uses dual gll)

Yeah, all the top AIs just abuse Plus and LGL. -_-

I really hate there there are no good Tank and Quad AI opponents too.

-other than posting in here for a long time......

yes LR is one of the best, 2nd overall, and the SL is the best....
yes like some of you said, the first thing that you will hate in LR is the OP-I of the enemy, from arena to missions, and another, when you do replay on arena, and do the AI AC side to video (sorry for the explanation) they do not overheat!!!!! and their boost is quite twice as long as a normal AC do, donno if some of you can do that, the long boost thinggy, anyway also the Parry blades, other than being powerful, they suck, they don't have a lock on, and they have an ammo!!!!!

i wish the creators of AC had included an OP-I on LR.....
My first impression of you was right

But there is still that needs to be done

We must hurry

well jack-o has a point you (the player) being the "last raven" wouldn't it be appropriate for you to get human + ness or at least nab an OP- I from the husk of one of your former enemies

(lol also why can't one salvage stuff in AC specifically AC:LR your enemies blow up right they won't complain if you grab their legs as souvenirs right?)

If only someone was powerful enough to modify the AI in LR, I'd play LR again.

You can get OP-I/+ outside the game anyway, so there's no prob regarding that.

my beef with LR is that some of the parts seem unecessary,I never use 3/4 of the parts I have.
Also the AI are cheaters, they ALL have OP-1, giving them tons of unfair goodies.
I also wouldve like a good flamethrower, 1000+ ammo wouldve been nice and maybe a smidge more range and attack power. Theres also very bland music in this game..... I throw on my MP3 player whenever I play LR. And this one may sound stupid but i wouldve liked a few battles where you have good allies that dont turn on you..... . I played the destroy supicious force mission and was all like "yay evangel is here to help me!" then grimaced when he betrayed me and I was forced to kick his butt....

Why? just curious.

We love Lr, and most of what's left of the true AC community still finds it fun, and deep as well. Games we are currently having now are intense, fast paced, and VERY tactical. yes, some changes like the MGs getting clips were retarded, but the game is really great as it is, that's why people come back to it.

I really don't know whats "boring", but none of us are getting bored at the moment. In fact, an ACLR renaissance is currently in effect atm. LOL. The reason why you're probably bored at any LR tournament is probably because you turn a blind eye to the game's merits, and you easily dismiss it-give it a chance(which you probably already did). You just probably have to get over what "has been" and just look forward to the current possibilities. LR is still very very diverse imho, and a lot can be done in the game. That's why we haven't given up on it.

well, my views of each AC game, are always 100% based on how it is received at tourneys. so if a game isn't fun for me, that doesn't mean its bad to others who look at more then just a games tourney possibilities.

I dislike LR because a lot of the changes made in LR such as booster acc, and the use of a wannabe double lock system. allow godly backpeddling to not only run rampant, but can actually make winning next to impossible unless your AC is built for it too. high end LR tourneys always tended to be dominated by the same basic biped abuse AC. tourney results were always overwhelmingly less diverse in LR then they were during the days of any other game.
when a games issue is the abuse of a system(such as underweighting in NX), rather then a broken part. its rather hard for tourney hosts to balance and create diversity with bans. I should know, cuz the NY tourney Mirshan and I ran for years, quickly grew to be the second biggest tourney in the US(next to MoC). and in my experience during all the tourneys I hosted and attended, the top results of pre LR tourneys were usually far more diverse and surprising. so that's what I mean by LR is boring.
this is all based on my personal experience with the game, while others may very well have had a complete opposite experience......to each his own.

^ Yep, agreed on most everything especially the backtracking part, assuming both players are equally skilled in controlling their ACs.

I mostly agree that the backpedaling staller is the obvious route to an LR tourney AC. But the more I play the game, the more I think that that isn't the only way to play even in a tournament setting.

well, most real vets avoid all the standard builds. even on kai, without any real rules, the fun players will usually follow "gentlemens rules"
most people go to large tourneys to win though, especially if there is good prize money at stake. so it can be hard to stick to all the gentlemens rules while preparing for a big tourney. Because even if you know most players will abide by them, there is always that worry that there will be that one player who is abusing everything he can to give himself the edge in order to win. so most vets preparing for a tourney will just shrug conform to that same tourney legal abuse design that basically everyone else brings.

I mean, in all honesty, every AC game despite how many problems it may have, can be an absolute blast when you play with the right group. I always found that friendly matches in LR after the actual tourney were much more fun then the tourney itself. once players started breaking out all their more interesting designs that would be at huge disadvantages against the standard LR abuse design.

tiers in multiplayer games is often maddening, LR simply has the added disadvantage over other AC games because its problems extend far beyond simple part imbalance.
