but why don't make the effort wouldn't take the effort I don't think building up character profile would take longer than a day or two considering you just need to fill in the dots for some of them. (eg. the dudes from LR already have a simple backstory for starters )
or is from actively inclined to screwing with its fan base

They've been doing just that for years already. I doubt they'd change tactics at this point. It's possible though, that an AC or Next might be a hidden unit in-game.
