Today is also the day the iconic AK-47 rifle went into production in 1947.

I now just the quote to commemorate this special day:
Quote:Of all the weapons in the vast soviet arsenal nothing was more profitable than Avtomat Kalashnikova model of 1947, more commonly known as the AK-47, or Kalashnikov. It's the worlds most popular assault rifle, a weapon all fighters love. An elegantly simple nine pound amalgamation of forged steel and plywood, it doesn't break, jam, or overheat. It will fire whether it's covered in mud or filled with sand. It's so easy even a child could use it, and they do. The Soviets put the gun on a coin. Mozambique put it on their flag. Since the end of the Cold War, the Kalashnikov has become the Russian people's greatest export. After that comes vodka, caviar, and suicidal novelists. One thing is for sure, no one was lining up to buy their cars.
Dare I say more people died from this gun than any nuclear weapon in existence.
The latest in Iran:
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/05/world/...&th&emc=th
Quote:CAIRO — An important group of religious leaders in Iran called the disputed presidential election and the new government illegitimate on Saturday, an act of defiance against the country’s supreme leader and the most public sign of a major split in the country’s clerical establishment.
A statement by the group, the Association of Researchers and Teachers of Qum, represents a significant, if so far symbolic, setback for the government and especially the authority of the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, whose word is supposed to be final. The government has tried to paint the opposition and its top presidential candidate, Mir Hussein Moussavi, as criminals and traitors, a strategy that now becomes more difficult.
“This crack in the clerical establishment, and the fact they are siding with the people and Moussavi, in my view is the most historic crack in the 30 years of the Islamic republic,” said Abbas Milani, director of the Iranian Studies Program at Stanford University. “Remember, they are going against an election verified and sanctified by Khamenei.”
The announcement came on a day when Mr. Moussavi released documents detailing a campaign of fraud by the current president’s supporters, and as a close associate of the supreme leader called Mr. Moussavi and former President Mohammad Khatami “foreign agents,” saying they should be treated as criminals.
The documents, published on Mr. Moussavi’s Web site, accused supporters of the president of printing more than 20 million extra ballots before the vote and handing out cash bonuses to voters.
Since the election, the bulk of the clerical establishment in the holy city of Qum, an important religious and political center of power, has remained largely silent, leaving many to wonder when, or if, the nation’s senior religious leaders would jump into the controversy that has posed the most significant challenge to the country’s leadership since the Islamic Revolution.
With its statement Saturday, the association of clerics came down squarely on the side of the reform movement.
The group had earlier asked for the election to be nullified because so many Iranians objected to the results, but it never directly challenged the legitimacy of the government and, by extension, the supreme leader.
The earlier statement also came before the election was certified by the country’s religious leaders, who have since said that opposition to the results must cease.

Yep yep read that from FAD itself. Hahaha I wonder how they'll go about that, as none of the files are actually uploaded on FAD. Let's see how our courts, if it ever reaches that, handle teh INTERNET.

It's pretty funny how everyone was just making fun of him right before he died. And now that he's gone, everyone's shifted to sulking about how the greatest just died. Human nature at its finest.

As much as that pro-FAD argument makes logical sense, I doubt our courts will seriously consider raising that up. I think they'll prosecute the owners of FAD, caving in to pressure from outside forces clamoring for "justice" (like Bong Revilla).
If they do listen to logic, I'll buy everyone here a beer. I swear.

The NBI better be more specific about this report; Do they mean that the site itself offers free porn movies, or do the site's ADVERTISERS offer this service?

The site itself posts links to porn, but the files themselves are hosted on uploading sites like RapidShare.
Syempre alam ko.

You nailed my sentiment exactly.

I really like the content on FAD, but the (implied?) personality of the writer who got arrested isn't one I'd sympathize with, nor do they deserve it.
The case will probably result in a landmark ruling on cybercrime in this country, but that's about it.

Para lang nga may maituro.
Go Bong! Malapit na'ng election! Fight!
EDIT: Oh, why don't they just handle the whole thing like the way she does. With grace!
I just don't get how someone finds the nerve to cry wolf when that someone was in a 'sinful relationship' in her own accord. Karma lang yung na-video ka, ma'am. Now because of some bitch no one really cares about (save maybe for faps), FAD had to go down with it. Well, I think it won't. I think the only difference they'll make is NOT to add watermarks to uploaded videos.

Big diff is that Maricar was actually Hayden's bf when those were taken. So other than the fact that those were most probably taken without her consent, she really has nothing else to be ashamed about. Katrina on the other hand is contending with a lot of guilt. She's probably going through this as some sort of atonement for herself. And yes, poor FAD's just collateral damage.
