LR: Game Frustrations
#16
By 90% pilot rating, I mean is someone who is more of a pilot then a designer...
Sila yung mga walang tiyaga or bano magdesign, pero pag pinalaban mo...
Welcome to the scrap pile...

To NIX...
I know how to pilot...
It's just that all I can do right now is move my AC around, dodge with it, shoot, boost etc... But not use all of what it can do...
Hell, I make good OB AC's but can't OB properly...

Kaya nga in a few cases -Like me and Shinigami back in PP days-
I design his AC and he pilots my design...
Back then, Shini's 60% Pilot, and I'm 50% designer/mechanic...
Making us a good combination...

Again, others may find it stupid and childish, but this is one of the things people tend to overlook in AC...
If you can't see something, have someone else to see it for you...
That's what I mean by --% Pilot/Designer...

Well Serene, I never said you couldn't pilot. I only said that a COMPLETE AC player has to have skills in both designing and piloting. Anyways, don't worry cuz I understand what you're trying to say.

Just to add to my LR frustration list:

LR Music SUCKS. SL had awesome music. NX had an awesome soundtrack too. But the one for LR totally reeks... I don't even notice there's music sometimes.

Payag kami si Hellhound dyan...
It doesn't sound that bad...
But it's too techno~!

To Nix:
It's ok...
I know that you're not telling me that I can't pilot...
All I'm saying is: Others can compensate for their weakness/es through others.
Who knows? Others may be able to enjoy AC this way...

I don't mind techno. It's just that the music is nowhere as good as it was in Silent Line and Nexus.

MOA and the original had the best music IMO. MOA balanced the techno with some hard rock while the original's soundtrack just felt right for the game.

LR could have fixed a LOT of weapons from NB and NX, its just too bad that Fromsoft didn't care or didn't have the time to alter some of the underpowered weapons.

designing and piloting are two different aspects. :hmm:

You can build an AC which is not pleasing to the eye, but with the pilot's skill, can be brutally effective.

or...

build an AC which is very "cool looking", but the pilot can't operate it properly because of lack of skill.

Maybe there's a balance between the two. If you will fuse all of the cool looking parts, there should always a flaw. either the combinations or the pilot itself.

I myself had a hard time designing a very cool looking AC... because sometimes the drawback would be... performance. Even if my experience and piloting skills can compensate for it, there are factors that are beyond my control.

so I myself would rather think "I should be creative... without sacrificing performance"

the pilot should know what are his/her capabilities, strength & weaknesses, his/her style... to build the AC that would fit for him/her.

-> design with style Shades
-> pilot with style :wink:
-> win with style :ph34r:

Well...
Everyone knows that there is no such thing as a perfect AC...
At least, not in the new games...

Anyone have a functioning PSX and an MOA file?
I'd like to show something in the tourney...

Well building ACs is ok. but of course i go for function over form any day. i do not care if it looks crap as long as it delivers results that conform to your piloting style. There is no such thing as a perfect AC. There is no such thing as a perfect pilot... but having a good AC and being a good pilot will make you a better player...

Hahah look at my first post in this thread. Well, so many of the points I made have held true. But we've found good work-arounds through our rules, haven't we? Even with all its faults, LR is probably the best AC game to date. LOL

I have a 90% Pilot Rating, but I spend 90% garage, 10% piloting.

I keep running with the same staple middle weight with Dingo 2 legs, Lemur Arms AC and trying new varients to go with it.

Did/does anyone actually hear the background music of LR? Or even listen to it? Or recall any track of it from memory?

Only the LR theme. The rest sucked ass. There's one more soundtrack I can recall, and that was the one played during every final mission. It didn't go off my mind that easily, since it's perfectly an earsore.
