I'm from Illinois, where Barack Obama is an incumbent Senator. Aside from that, this is a great campaign song. I really hope Obama wins.

Song & video, featuring a star cast, by Will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas. Inspired by Barack Obama's 'Yes We Can' speech:

It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation.

Yes we can.

It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail toward freedom.

Yes we can.

It was sung by immigrants as they struck out from distant shores and pioneers who pushed westward against an unforgiving wilderness.

Yes we can.

It was the call of workers who organized; women who reached for the ballots; a President who chose the moon as our new frontier; and a King who took us to the mountaintop and pointed the way to the Promised Land.

Yes we can to justice and equality.

Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity.

Yes we can heal this nation.

Yes we can repair this world.

Yes we can.

We know the battle ahead will be long, but always remember that no matter what obstacles stand in our way, nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change.

We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics... they will only grow louder and more dissonant... We've been asked to pause for a reality check. We've been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope.

But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope.

Now the hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA; we will remember that there is something happening in America; that we are not as divided as our politics suggests; that we are one people; we are one nation; and together, we will begin the next great chapter in the American story with three words that will ring from coast to coast; from sea to shining sea --

Yes. We. Can.

Celebrities featured include: Jesse Dylan, Will.i.am, Common, Scarlett Johansson, Tatyana Ali, John Legend, Herbie Hancock, Kate Walsh, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Adam Rodriquez, Kelly Hu, Adam Rodriquez, Amber Valetta, Eric Balfour, Aisha Tyler, Nicole Scherzinger and Nick Cannon

try downloading the Garden State song, Truth or Dare.

it's on their myspace, www.myspace.com/gardenstateto

they're really pop-punky(the chord progression is G-C-Gm-A IIRC lmfao), but the lead singer has a REALLY good voice/control. the guitar is pretty good too, at times. try em out.

if you like them, they had another band, Blacktop Manhattan. listen to their song Hollywise, if you can find it.

I wrote and uploaded a compilation of the arguably best and most often played violin concertos in a soloist's repertoire.

I know most of you don't listen to classical music because it sounds boring (I blame your music teachers), but try giving these a listen if only to see how L337 the soloists are.

Read the entry here, links provided as well.

A bit late, but I'm recommending Lupe Fiasco. Yes, he's a rapper, but his stuff is really a cut above the general rap fodder being fed to people everywhere. He's like a younger version of Kanye West (which is another artist worth listening to).

Torrents of his Food & Liquor album should still be around the net. For particular songs, I'd go for:

Intro (wicked bass)
Real
Kick, Push
Daydreamin'
Hurt Me Soul
American Terrorist
The Emperor's Soundtrack

I've just downloaded the deluxe version of the Across the Universe soundtrack. Fan-tastic stuff.

It's all songs of the Beatles, but sung by the actors who starred in the movie. The nice thing about it is that every song gets its own perfect dose of contemporary interpretation, and that the singing is actually pretty well done.

I Wrote:Bottom line is, I’ve you’ve ever loved even one Beatles song, you owe it to yourself to watch this film and see what they’ve done with it.

Well if you don't want to watch the movie, at least hear the album, it's really golden.

For some reason, Pinoy Rock is really taking off recently (like, the past year). Here's some of the really good tracks from Pupil and The Out of Body Special I recommend. I didn't like Pupil at first because I thought Ely was trying to replace the Eheads, but in retrospect it's just moving on for him, and their music is damn good.

Pupil - Disconnection Notice
Pupil - Monobloc
Pupil - Sala
Pupil - Set Me Apart
The Out of Body Special - Give It
The Out of Body Special - Sexybeast
The Out of Body Special - Soundcheck

Oh and

Taken By Cars - Shapeshifter

Disco 2000 by Pulp.

Pretty old, but the tune's unbelievably catchy and the lyrics are beautiful in a really depressing way.
