Please recommend some good songs to me. -_-
I have been so out of touch with music recently. Most of my friends in college only listened to stuff that played on MTV or 89.9... *shudders*
Please recommend some specific songs to me. I generally like easy-listening alternative songs and not-too-heavy rock (as you've seen in my favorite genres/artists thread). Emo bands are fine too for as long as the lyrics are not TOO whiney and no screaming is involved. Instrumentals, eletronica, techno, anything will do for as long as it's good.
I need new stuff to fill up my MP3 player. -_-
Thanks in advance
...Oh, 89.9 still exists?
Anyway, I don't know how long you've been out of it, but here's what I can remember instantly from the last few years.
Muse - Time is Running Out
Eisley - Telescope Eyes
Eisley - Trolley Wood
Meg and Dia - Monster
Bedouin Soundclash - Walls Fall Down
Bedouin Soundclash - St. Andrews
Bedouin Soundclash is a Canadian indie band that plays reggae/ska/rock fusion. I also placed the entire recent albums of the bravery, the klaxons and the shins on my player so you might like to try them.
CSS: let's make love and listen to death from above, alala , music is my hot hot sex ( if you feel like partying
)
Interpol: no i in threesome , rest my chemistry , wrecking ball (if you like joy division)
The Rakes: leave the city and come home (if you like british accents and telecasters<---though not too evident here...as this is a pretty chill out tune)
Art Brut - Emily Kane (if you're fond of british accents + sweet charming lyrics)
New Order - Ceremony (f*kin ace song)
Hahah nice.
Keep it coming guys.
Posting a source along with the song is good too.
Here are my recommendations:
All the Dark Horses by Trashcan Sinatras
Always by Suburbia
Best of What's Around by Dave Matthews Band (probably my fave along with #41)
Built to Last by Melee - beautiful lyrics.
Choose the One Who Loves You Most by Copeland - Really smooth.
Clockwatching by Jason Mraz - Sexual Innuendo to the max
If I Ever Feel Better by Phoenix - REALLY catchy
I'll add some more later.
Anyone can request any RNB songs??
Go ahead and recommend some if you want to. We're not here to diss each other's tastes anyway. It's just that new school R&B is not a genre I listen to. Old school RnB (Steview, Motown, etc) is definitely in my list though.
(bumping)
Please, sirs. May I have some more?
EDIT: I'm REALLY digging CSS.
if you liked css you might also like:

I also liked some songs by Voxtrot and the Klaxons, as recommended by sforzando.
Oooh oooh he listens to klaxons as well?
Apparently.
Basically, please recommend to me all the best songs you know that are not played on radios and mtv. >_<
EDIT:
Well recommend not just to me, but to RR in general.
And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - How Near How Far
