Hindi din ako sigurado pero parang para sa mga ibang insekto lang yung na matatamaan nung usok.

Knowing Fox, bad trip ng ilang araw 'to.

I noticed a trail of dirt particles leading behind the lower two shelves. Curious, i removed a couple of books to see where the dirt came from. To my horror, the dirt turned out to be from a termite colony that was now infesting the rear of my bookshelves. I immediately started pulling books out too check the extent of the infestation and the damage done.

All in all, over fifty of my books were in various degrees of being chewed on, with around a dozen so badly holed that i had no choice but to consign them to the flames. Today marks the first time that i did not enjoy lighting something up. Even with the majority of my collection salvaged and still in good condition, i still have over php20k worth of tomes to replace.

I now know what Yomiko felt like when the Library of Congress was torched.

What a way to start off the year. Glare

We've had problems like that in certain sections of the library for years now. Normally, our maintenance guys would soak the entire affected area in some liquid termite killer that is available from most hardware stores, making sure that it goes down the holes as well. If you do not have any of that, kerosene or turpentine can be used as well but does not kill the insects quickly upon contact. If you do not have any of that too, sealing the tunnel entrances with super glue is a temporary solution.

If you plan on keeping your chewed-up books, it would be a good idea to dab some rubbing alcohol on them. This is to erase any of the termite pheromones that may be left on the pages, since they can use those to return. Once the alcohol dries up, it should take away the pheromones as well. Take note that termites also love dry, quiet and snug places.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your collection. The world becomes a poorer place when books are lost in such a senseless manner.

neigh didnt make it for transcosmos/fromsoftwae...well just because dont have a game design degree...T_T well thats unfair wala png game design/animation dedicated courses nung time ko to begin with...if this keeps up mapipilitan ako mag short course in game design or something

and shove it at their faces "Oh yan may certification na ako from a game design degree"...

anyways at least Dreamlords digital passed as a freelancer for their mobile games projects not fulltime since they needed someone medyo sanay na rin mag retopo ng high poly for full time unfortunately havent made any retopo work since been doing mostly texture practice lately

well at least i passed XD though for now wala muna sila mobile game projects around mid year pa daw and until i get used to doing retopo work as well for now Freelancer muna for Dreamlords Digital (local game development studio)

in case anyone is wondering what does retopo mean...basically making a lower poly model from a high poly sculpt 3d model, usually done for console games (pc,ps3 etc ) and film models

Rave: getting a lot of online work :3 almost every week may bagong contact sa skype nag papagawa ng artwork for their mobile game :3 currently working on 2 projects

one of the freelance gigs online i got this time instead of just one artwork i get to do most of the 3d art now for this jrpg style coming out for the ipad/android...so long term project getting per artwork

a few of my contacts/projects as to how i am getting them XD apparently getting recommended from my previous online client

and just finished a quick game project for another contact...biglang contacted via skype needed the artwork in a few days XD

game is coming out around april for the ipad/android ^^

and have 2-3 incoming game projects had to put on old for the time being since yeah already have 2 ongoing

in anycase so yeah didnt make it for that studio dahil wala ako game design certificate/degree fine i already taught myself the skills needed for the job...ill just earn up for a short course or something just to get a certificate para next studio that will use "dahil wala kang game design degree eh" hindi nila magamit just happy and sad a bit...

rave/rant: ewan mixed feelings about this...got a text roughly month ago from Mapua for part time instructor position as well hmmmm i guess another possible source of income but really i enjoy production work a lot more than teaching...but may also work to my advantage...if they have a short course in game design that would be nice para at least yeah hindi na pwede gamitin excuse ng studio dahil wala ako certificate sa game design degree...:3 anyways following up about it...also bwusit na informatics till now still no classes...lalagay nila urgent sa ad nila sabay wala pa la classes

so yeah parang ginagawa ng ibang profs..."working student" XD

in anycase will always be overshadowed by someone coming directly from a game design course...oh well thats life...sucks to have a disadvantage ill just figure something out hmmm
