Such is the armor of Spartans: pecs, abs, and an angry face.

Gonna be watching it tomorrow evening so i'm asking for a spoiler-less answer here: Was the movie worth the money?

If you want lots of blood, gore, WEIRDNESS, and nudity (both sexes. =P), then yes, it's well worth the admission.
If you're looking for a meaty plot and compelling dialogue, look elsewhere. XD Let me just say this: The movie's faithfulness to the graphic novel is its beauty and its bane.

Yeah, when I was flipping through that copy I found it seemed to be pretty sparse of dialogue, for a graphic novel. Seems all Spartans can say are some manly exclamations of 'AAARRRGGG!' or 'GGGRRRAAA!'

As for the weirdness, well, i'll just hafta see when i watch it tonight. Can't hardly wait.

Saw it yesterday (yes, I know - late much, sue me). Instant candidate for movie of the year, and we're not even halfway through the year yet.
Upon seeing it, I felt that the lack of dialogue and the simplicity of the plot was actually the movie's strong point: everything was clear and defined, just like the world between the pages of any comic. And where else can you get an ending speech that long?

It wasn't the lack of dialogue that was the problem... it was the dialogue itself that was bad. >_<
You see, some things sound better when read from the pages of a comic book but just don't work out when actually enacted.

I just watched it and it was By far the coolest movie I've seen!except those Porn scenes like the King and Queen making love and the Queen having Adultery(Damn she's disgusting,I really hate cheaters ) ..Good thing on those scenes,my Girl was asleep, wait, she's asleep the whole movie!! Well I like it when she sleeps coz she just hangs on my arms like a koala

Hahah yeah that love scene was totally unnecessary. It did nothing for the story. The strong bond between Leonidas and his wife was still clearly established even without that scene. Meh.

Naahhh!! His wife is a F***ing Cheater!
One question..did the actors really made love in that scene as in IN and OUT???
03-12-2007, 12:45 AM
Ravenflau, put it into context. Yes, his wife technically cheated. But can you really call it cheating? Things in this world aren't that black-and-white.
And regarding that question, I don't think there was any in-and-out going there. That usually doesn't happen in simple in-movie love scenes, such as those in R-rated movies. That's reserved for softcore and hardcore films.

Yeah I guess you're right..
But I still don't like those type of women who can actually do that to her husband even if it was for a cost.. <_< Anyway, you seemed serious about this Nix o'buddy,by any chance you experienced these kinds of things?? |
