Yeah, I noticed the difference in blade slash when it somes to leg type.
But weird actually, has anyone noticed that Evangel's "slash" changed in his second (should I say third?) form? He did this without changing his legs O.o

back in the PS1 era, heavies perform an animation na parang nagwawalis. (abla ingles: "sweeping the floor with a broom")
oracle 1 and 2 are mids, with the latter being a true mid. they perform the same animation. the only difference, it seems, is that oracle 1's animation is faster thank to the reaction speed of the macaque. oracle 2's animation seems a little slower because of the lemur2. lightweight-class arms are usually the quickest although there are some exceptions like the the loris and perhaps the a72f (i have this thing on Bruiser, along with the lb2. a big green ac doing blade strikes in rapid succession = orgasmic ).
anyway,
my test is still pending because i had to visit my mom in the hospital this afternoon. she was involved in a vehicular accident pero konting sugat lang ang natamo. nothing serious. the doctors just wanted to get some x-rays done. it turned out normal. the only major problem is her UTI. hahaha. she'll be out tomorrow. then, it's back to work for me....
i'm only after cosistency with my test. i'm just gonna see how much damage both blades do in full and partial contact from different angles to see which blade does the most damage on different types of contacts other than a full one. my vs. human experience back in AC P through AC3/SL tells me that there is only a little chance to get a full contact with a blade against a mobile human opponent (unless you're blading a tank..but good tankers always have some sort of defense mechanism against this type of tactic).

I think this topic should be generalized to blading in general.
[off-topic]Wanzer, good to hear that your mother is fine despite what happened.[/off-topic]
Guys, what determines the speed of the arm swing when blading? I thought it was the aim adjust time of the arm so I tested it in versus mode.
Using split screen, I used two identical ACs that had different arms. One had the LORIS while the other had the MACAQUE. Since it was split screen, I pressed the blade button at the same time for both players... there was no apparent difference.
Heavenflame, a well-known blader from ACO says that the swing depends on the Blade Aptitude stat. She says that the higher the stat, the stronger the slash but the slower the swing, and vice-versa. Is this true? I haven't tested it yet. If it isn't true, then what determines the blade swing speed?

the xs arms only has a 97% rating yet it's pretty quick.
the lemur2 has more but it's too slow....
reaction and recovery time are "invisible" stats. you have to "see" them for yourself.
speaking of reaction and recovery time, the elf3 and lb3 pull out rather quick...almost amakakeruryuunohirameki-like ( )), but too slow to recover. if you whiff, expect to get punished.
lb2's recovery time is one of the fastest and it allows multiple strikes in rapid succession using the old trick of holding either left or right while mashing the blade button. it's reaction time is also pretty fast.

A Tank's blade attack is stronger because it executes a stab instead of a slash...
The same works with quads...
I don't think stability has nothing to do with the blade's damage...
Yes, the blades reaction and recovery time are based on hidden stats...

But Tank stabs are better than that of quads in that the tank stab deals more damage.

Anyway, I did say -I don't think- so it's still possible that stability has something to do with it or the leg's height or the leg's speed with the arm's stab...
Or it's possible that the legs have something to with blade's reaction time...
Someone check tis for me...
If you want insane damage, LB3 ...
If heat, ELF3 ...
I don't use the moonlight because it's are pretty unstable, in addition to that, it can' be hangered...

In Nexus, I think blade recovery was this (from fastest to slowest):
Elf2
LB, Elf, LB2, Fuhjin, Raijin
Moonlight, Syura
LB3
Taros
I'm not completely sure about that though, it's only from what I recall. I'm also not completely sure if it's still applicable to Last Raven, some of the blades may have moved up or down a notch (also the Elf3 and the LB4 aren't there).
About the blade swing though, I think HeavenFlame got it right. It seems that the lighweight arms with a lower blade aptitude than the Loris get out swings faster, but they have much much weaker damage. On the other hand, Loris is on par with some of the midweight arms for blade swing speed, but because of it's blade aptitude statistic, when it lands a hit with a blade, it hurts. Maybe reasoning for this stems from the swing's momentum: when the AC has lightweight arms, there's less mass behind the swing, so the end force is much less. Conversely, when the AC has more mass, that translates to a greater end result. Sounds reasonable enough.
Upon further inspection, it looks like blading is one of those things that From got right, aside from the fact that they removed any semblance of tracking.
Too bad nobody uses it much anymore.

It's ok if they took out the tracking...
But still, my bro's complaining about that...
Di na daw sya makahabol sa ere...
Anyways, I wish from makes a slightly more old school AC Game in the future... With tracking and dual performance weapons similar to weapon arms...
With stabbing blades for non-patform AC's...
I was thinking... Why doesn't hover legs stab? They're platforms too right?

I believe that that still exists to a point in LR. Try using Eye3, Queen, Drone, or any one of the radar heads. And use Macaque. That setup always tracked upward targets for me.
It's still kinda wonky though. XP

tracking only matters when you're using short blades. radarless heads also track. Bruiser originally had the s4 on but i tried using the s2 with the elf3 and i really noticed some improvement.
@ Grim
yeah, your right about that one. nobody wants to adapt blading as their main playstyle since AC3 and onwards with dual-wielding being so dominant.

very nice... can someone condense these findings in a mini-FAQ and post it in the republic? I'd do it if I have the time...
It would give us another thing to be proud about.

We can do that mini FAQ once all these findings have been confirmed. We've only theorized certain things about blades but we haven't really confirmed much yet.
Looking forward to more findings.

ok, i just did exactly what i've been planning the last couple of days this afternoon.
i used my bruiser frame. took out all the unecesary equipment namely, the missle packs and the zook. i kept the primer on.
first thing i did was test the raw power of each blade at full contact, with the two ACs standing face-to-face na nakadikit. i know the elf3 is is the more powerful blade in this respect, but i just want to see the numbers. so, moonlight = 2400+ and elf3, 2700+. i used the starter AC as the test dummy.
the next one is quite interesting. i tested how much damage each blade did at odd angles from the target AC in an attempt to only get a partial contact. it was only a brief test, but the moonlight beats the elf3 in this category because of its length and numerous contact points. the moonlight did around 1500-1700 while the elf3 did half of that, not counting the wave damage. though, you can still do around more than 1500-1800 damage with the elf3 even if you didn't get a full contact as long as the target is directly in front of you for the wave to connect. at odd angles though, the moonlight performs consistently.
now since people are going to be moving a lot in a real fight, there's little chance you would actually get a full contact with any blade. so, it is a good idea to consider the length of the blade as well.
another interesting thing about the a72f: i swear i was pulling of blade strikes in rapid succession with the moonlight just as i would with the lb2. i tried the moonlight on a middleweight frame with the langur, and it was pretty sluggish during recovery.
