See that, depends on whether the info below is true. I'm still trying to verify it but it was brought forth by a few of our users on MV.

"So I got to talk to Nobu again at E3 and he was able to clarify a bit on the subject. He made it very clear, they are not keeping NA in the dark and they have not dropped support. There are a couple of problems however that are slowing the next patch for NA. For one, both the NA and JP version of AC were designed slightly differently. Considering they were released at seperate times, the NA version actually has certain stat changes in the vanilla game that were not in the JP version. This means they cannot simply take the JP patches and transfer them over to NA."
Editors note: This all sounds good and makes perfect sense to me. Next parts a little hazy to my not so tech savy self.
"Also, as far as stat changes go, it is difficult to calculate whether fluctuations in balance are due to hard stats or errors within the servers. The amount of stats in the game makes it a detailed and tough process and they work their best taking feedback from the fans' forums [really?] and talk. It is a very deep problem that is slowing support for both versions. All this said, he has made it clear that FROM has no intention of abandoning support and is currently working hard with this. The reason fans are kept in the dark however is because FROM will never fromally announce content (like patches) before they are 100% positive that it will be finished within a given time frame [fuck/ass-fuck/ass]. Otherwise theyd be announcing something that can drag out (a little late for this course, but this is the official reason you guys don't get news).

Again, I'm still trying to confirm the validity of it.
