That's exactly how I feel. It's exactly the same with the local music industry. If only our mainstream writers would try to be a bit more creative and innovative.
Then again, those that do try to innovate or do something different usually just get burned. Sad as it is, for example, I don't see any indie/semi-indie bands topping any charts/getting LOCAL recognition/making any money. Sure, going indie usually means that they're not in it for the money... but at the end of the day, they still have to make a living.
Though I hate myself for saying this, the Filipino's readiness to accept all this novelty bullshit is what's causing local media to self-destruct.
