Currently, a bunch of songs from Gundam SEED. Blame the marathon i just finished over the weekend when i managed to finish the entire series with only a few hours of sleep in between. So what if alot of people hate the series, i just needed something to get me through the weekend.
Although there were a lot of good songs in the soundtrack, what really struck a chord with me was the song being played during the Ark Angel's escape from ORB. It's titled "Akatsuki no Kuruma" (Dawn's Carriage or literally Wheels of Dawn) by the group FictionJunction YUUKA. It's about mourning the loss of someone who'll never be seen again (as taken from the english translation of the lyrics). The simple guitar strumming at the intro begins with a simple sampling of Yuuka Nanri's slightly throaty vocals. It then progresses into a rising melody that has Yuuka singing at the top of the vocal range, totally showcasing the power and sheer emotion of the song.
It's just so good that it's been on nonstop repeat all morning long on my iPod.

"May those who accept their fate find happiness. May those who defy their fate find glory."
