I think its more of 1, 5, 4, 2, 3 based on the order of when the main story on each game starts. (Although I'm not sure when FM4's story starts, and FM5's childhood scenes start during the 1st Huffman War but the main plot starts during the 2nd Huffman War)
Its really too bad that FM5 didn't, and probably will not get an english release. The production values are almost on the level of FF12, which is quite a shame really. FM5 sitll playable however, since the interface is similar to that of FM3 and 4. The best you can do if you can't read Japanese is to enjoy the cutscenes and the Wanzer re-modeling feature in the game . The cutscenes are nice to watch as well BTW, and you can view them again in the theater selection in the title screen.
