Getting chewed up by mom for deciding to turn down a job offer and exam from an office that was looking for a writer. A corporate writer position that basically researches company profiles for clients. Nowhere near my expertise - I'm a news and feature writer by comparison.
All the while she's playing CityVille, and won't let up even after I told her I'm preparing a sample article for a job test at another company that is actually looking for people with my skillset.
Damned if you do damned if you don't - she's angry because she thinks I'm not taking the job hunt seriously enough, but when I ask her to quiet down because I am taking one seriously, she says I'm being rude and self-important.

For all her faults though, she is still my mom. That, and she showed a remarkable amount of control and organization during our family crisis last march, so I'm not as angry as I am at her as before.
Irritated perhaps, but not as furious as before.
Rave: Just finished a job test asking who I think is the most important Celebirty around.
I said either Adam or Jamie from Mythbusters, because they teach people to be skeptical, and to facts using good-old fashioned experimentation. An especially important virtue to learn when the net is full of fantastical claims and bullshit.

great i feel depressed on the inside just learned few months ago
1 of my friends during college is going to the states specifically Gnomon school of visual arts to study 2d concept art further by around end of this yr or so...Gnomon is one of the top school for visual effects in the world heck people teaching in Gnomon are people working in lucas films and such and Gnomon is near hollywood...>_<
mixed feelings about it happy for him but depressed at the same time on the inside its just one of the schools i dreamed of studying in the future oh well i guess i am stuck at buying their tutorial dvds for now...and online stuff ><
well actually i already know this roughly 1 yr ago
one of my cousins on the father side is studying game design in CSB (which the course came out 1 yr after i graduated from csb) plus he has already his own laptop nung first year >_< (had to share one pc with twin skies, haywire and my mom when i was in college so most of the school stuff ended up parang rushed...at least i still got high grades and manage to learn to work with what i have...)
so yeah mixed feelings in my rant but bottom line i feel frustrated...>_<

XD ahhh its annoying sometimes when parents especially if they come from a similiar course insist on certain things they know better XD
dont worry i am not mad just a weee bit annoyed
mom said something earlier after the RR Game Project meet
"dapat marunong ka din ng painting, photography etc dahil most important"
XD i tend to repeat in myself in my head something in this line
"it helps but not important in my case since 3d ang forte ko...for a few things
1. ive seen a lot of really really damn good 3d artist out there in the forums, meet some in irl/internet and a few of my classmates before in college was really good at 3d sculpting to the point i think he got hired abroad already somewhere in florida, he was hired on the spot when i went to the cgoverdrive i still have is deviant though but he isnt active in DA since hes busy with work
...funny thing is all of these people only know how to draw really basic just to draw out their ideas or cannot even draw or paint to the point that even a typical grade schooler can do better than them when it comes to drawing/watercolor/poster color
2. ive been through a lot of 3d test, ive read books, tutorials, asked in forums etc what it takes to be a really great 3d artist...
of all the job test i took for 3d...only one of them asked me to do some 2d stuff the rest was a 3d test well because i am applying for a 3d artist why would they give me a 2d test if ill be working in 3d XD
yes anatomy, color combination etc the typical fundamental art stuff are important for whatever medium you chose but you can also do all those in 3d
this what most really good 3d artist said XD
"whats the point of trying to practice of becoming really good in 2d eh 3d naman applayan mo/3d forte and u can practice all that sa 3d naman, maybe u can just do some practice here and there lng"
what makes this funny is that she doesn't do any kind of 3d art XD so she cant get my point yeah all those stuff she keeps insisting poster/water color painting/photography helps but not the most important thing for a 3d artist XD

Busy with my 2DANIM more than ever. Apparently I heard it wrong when the professor said 30 frames this week.
It was supposed to be 60 frames per week. 30 line tested, and another 30 done on the layouting, etc. Imma pass this later.
