RE: What the hell are you working on? - Serene - 06-17-2013 You're nuts. It's like a kid picked up 50php and went out to buy 50php worth of snacks. Can completely relate. RE: What the hell are you working on? - Fox - 06-17-2013 Was worth it though. I'm still grinning until now. RE: What the hell are you working on? - isburai - 06-28-2013 Hello. I will be starting working on VF1 Valkyrie. Hope it turns out good. Hehe. RE: What the hell are you working on? - Sirius140 - 06-30-2013 Finally overcame my laziness, so is this salvageable? Because now I should've went with panel wash first. The paints are water based and I have plenty of alcohol. The only paints I have. RE: What the hell are you working on? - Fox - 06-30-2013 If you're using Citadel paints, you need to water it down a bit to make sure that it goes on smoothly. You'll also need multiple coats for proper coverage. If you'll be stripping the paint from that piece, make sure that you're using 90% isopropyl alcohol or it'll take you a while to soften it. If not, brake fluid will do instead. RE: What the hell are you working on? - Sirius140 - 06-30-2013 So I guess 99% is a bit much, well back to painting. Thankfully I'm only doing the head and the shoulders since the Alexander has a ton of panel lines especially on the crouch panel. Update: I got some of the smears off the face mask. Maybe I can pass it off as a C.C. version. Finished for now. Just need liquid cement for the fore arms so they will stop popping open when ever I put a hand in there. By the way, regular or extra fine cement? RE: What the hell are you working on? - isburai - 07-01-2013 VF-1 Valkyrie W.I.P Mold line in the canopy I used sand paper grit 600 to remove the mold line Next, apply Tamiya compound. Use a smooth cloth and apply in order: 1. Coarse 2. Fine 3. Finish Viola! Mold line removed. Masking and paint. I'll just use thinner to remove the excess paint. Removing seam lines. I still need to apply some putty. Aaannd that's all for today. |
