RE: Fighting games technically - NiX - 02-28-2008

Hey DT, I personally know some of the best GG players in the Philippines. They have a very small GG community somewhat bigger than ours. I dunno if they're still active though.

RE: Fighting games technically - Doom Trigger - 02-28-2008

@Nix: Hmm, I want to meet them sometime. Most of the GG comunity I think play @ arcades, while I'm really pathetic in joystick.
Lets play same accent core sometime nix.

RE: Fighting games technically - NiX - 02-28-2008

Sige I'll hook you up.

Here it is. The torrent has seeders, but not many.

I think I'll start playing Guilty Gear Slash too, since I just downloaded it. Too bad you're in another country. LOL

DT: Yay! Another one! Lets play some GG sometime Jake..

I was downloading that torrent too. The seeds didn't want to connect for some reason, so I restarted it and then it connected. I have the game too now.

I've been reading some documentation on the gameplay system? Ach mein gott, it's technical as hell. I love it. And I just used God and hell in one sentence. Maybe we can play online when I figure out how to trick the psp into thinking the internet is an ad hoc connection.

@dt hey... guilty gear player na rin ako di ba?

RE: Fighting games technically - Doom Trigger - 03-01-2008

@adrian: sa arcade? I'm realy crummy @ joysticks, but I'll go, jst txt me ok

RE: Fighting games technically - Sforza - 03-02-2008

Question.

In GG: Slash last battle arcade. When I-no does her guitar tension attack? The one with tons of small balls, what do I do? The only way I think it can be blocked is faultless defense, and even if you do that, the guard gauge will go up by 1/3! Shock

It's like the Justice gamma beam -_-

...And the game is so hard (been playing the whole day for the first time) Domo Even on normal mode Domo

RE: Fighting games technically - Doom Trigger - 03-02-2008

Strategy on INO-

Theres will be a slew of danger signs b4 he fires up her balls attack, this is where the intended trajectory of the balls will hit. So with all might you should ditch these, and wait for her to fire away.

There are 3 ways she can fire those. I'm gona describe using ascii
*=danger signs
-=free space
S=safe spot
-------------**
-----------**
--------**
-----**
**-----------S

When the screen looks like this, you should stick to the corner then duck.

---------****
-------**-----**
------**---------**
----**-------------**
****-------S--------**

When the screen looks like this, go to the opening in the center of the screes, the opening will shft, so you hafta walk towards her after..

and lastly ->

-----------**
--------****
-----******
----*******
S********
----*******
-----******
--------****
-----------**
Looks lyk no where to hide huh, but here how, stick to her point blank, then time it correctly before she fires, high jump. if done correctly all balls will pass by..

Note that this is the only way to avoid every attack, if you dodge by going behind her your dead..

RE: Fighting games technically - Grim - 03-02-2008

Gee DT, you should write FAQs on this.

RE: Fighting games technically - Doom Trigger - 03-02-2008

@Grim: I might write one, but then again maybe someone wrote one prior to me.

@ Jake: Well thats all the advise I could give, she's still tough as nails even after you dodge those balls, but you could beat her with some skill and patience. BTW she's not the last boss, theres still Order Sol, that in my own opinion takes the cake off Ino's paws for the most frustrating GG boss..

RE: Applied fighting game methodology thru the observation of guilty gear et al. - Grim - 03-02-2008

Since we're getting all technical... might as well have a technical title like on those thesis papers.

RE: Applied fighting game methodology thru the observation of guilty gear et al. - Sforza - 03-02-2008

Thanks DT, I'll try it soon. Apple and I are both trying to learn Millia, but I think she's getting Testament as a secondary, while I'm getting to know A.B.A

It's insanely hard to get the timing right on the juggles. The most na kaya ko so far is 8 hits, without RCs or dashes.

For me, I-no is harder than Order Sol, I guess it's because I actually tried to learn Order Sol before Millia and A.B.A, and if he misses his dragon punch, it's easy to nail him with lust shaker

RE: Applied fighting game methodology thru the observation of guilty gear et al. - Doom Trigger - 03-02-2008

Jake: I still find Order Sol a tad bit harder than Ino tho, cuz once he uses his boss mode Dragon release he becomes uber cheap(tho I think my lack of turtle skills is to blame..)

Might as well relearn Millia too, tho I still preffer EX Chip
(Adrian is a chip user too) Wow, 1st ime I meet an ABA player, me looking foward to our duel..
