RE: Teh interesting tech news stub thread - NiX - 08-25-2011 http://news.yahoo.com/apple-says-steve-jobs-resigning-ceo-224628633.html I'm sure you've all heard this somewhere else. But I suppose it's still worth reposting. Steve Jobs resigns from his CEO post in Apple. Let's buy Apple stocks! RE: Teh interesting tech news stub thread - Shintetsu - 08-25-2011 Sorry for the dumb question, but how would we benefit from buying Apple stocks right now? RE: Teh interesting tech news stub thread - NiX - 08-25-2011 It's really low right now because of the announcement. Should go back up and stabilize again soon enough. RE: Teh interesting tech news stub thread - atdsutm - 09-12-2011 http://ph.news.yahoo.com/german-court-upholds-injunction-against-samsung-093547145.html i hope apple loses most of the other cases, i want more comptetion = lower prices instead of a monopoly. but then again the one with the most money will win court cases anyways RE: Teh interesting tech news stub thread - atdsutm - 10-24-2011 http://asia.gamespot.com/news/6341853.html Chinese gaming console i hope it wont explode!! Not to mention that's the strongest flare since like, 5-10 years? ![]() Quote:You might have noticed the flare looked like an elongated diamond. That’s not real! It’s a digital artifact; what’s happening is the flare got so bright it overwhelmed the pixels in the SDO detector. These collect light like a bucket collects rain. If too much light hits them, they overflow into the neighboring pixel. This flare was so bright it flooded the detector, and created that effect — technically called blooming. Source Oh and before you say it (we're in danger! 2012!), it's just another anomaly that doesn't do much. It could disrupt communication due to the radiation, but then again that only concerns people in aerospace afaik. Satellites may be trolololled too though, which also brings me to the point... of blaming the sun in advance. Because I'm probably going to have some bad connection issues in ACV. RE: Teh interesting tech news stub thread - Goat - 02-03-2012 Megaupload users' data to be kept another two weeks, EFF to help folks retrieve it: http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/31/megaupload-users-data-to-be-kept-another-two-weeks-eff-to-help/ Bah. I don't want to post it on the SOPA/PIPA/etc thread.
