RE: Mental Repository (M.R.) - Serene - 08-08-2011 My WTF Weekend Rave: My job hunting allowance is now secured. I can now go on hunting trips more frequently. RE: Mental Repository (M.R.) - medusa0 - 08-08-2011 (08-08-2011, 02:16 PM)Serene Wrote: Post Well, we can't keep up with technological advancements forever... The exact same thing happened to one of my relatives (uncle) who was the family tech, he had pretty much stopped caring about it. Rant/Rave 1: Fall semester begins in two weeks, better enjoy the peace while it lasts. Rant/Rave 2: A few items disappeared, either they are lost during the last redecoration - or we may have a thief who has a preference for (largely outdated) playing cards. RE: Mental Repository (M.R.) - NiX - 08-08-2011 LOL yeah, keeping up with tech is tiring. And eventually you realize it's, in a way, pointless. RE: Mental Repository (M.R.) - RoninFang - 08-08-2011 Part-time/ Freelance Job offer from friend starts next week Rave: will be starting next week for 1-2 training thing which is required for all new employees Rant: they don't have budget to give allowance during training period so i will have to use own money (swt i am really having doubts with this company they require training for the new employee but don't have budget to pay for allowance na kahit a measly 100 bucks na pang commute lng at least a day walang budjet...this is the first time ive seen a job offer with now allowance for training) T_T or probably ask a bit of help from relatives/friends T_T ....Kunting tiis na lng >_< Toon City...please finalize the date already >_< RE: Mental Repository (M.R.) - Serene - 08-08-2011 (08-08-2011, 03:46 PM)NiX Wrote: LOL yeah, keeping up with tech is tiring. And eventually you realize it's, in a way, pointless. Well, at least keep up with how to do maintenance. I mean, even if tech advances 10 years worth, it doesn't mean you'll have to learn a new set of repair and maintenance skills every year or every time you upgrade. They're usually the same super basic stuff that only need to develop a variation of during advances. Buti na nga lang hindi inatake nung nalaman nya na may baterya pala ang mga motherboard eh. RE: Mental Repository (M.R.) - NiX - 08-08-2011 I mean just do a google search for what you need when you actually need to do it. Constantly updating yourself is just a waste of time if it isn't your job. Or you can always pay for cheap labor to do it for you if you have more valuable things to do with your time. Cheap labor isn't exactly cheap if the person to do the stuff for you lives 3-5 cities away and had travel for 2 hours just to fix whatever it needs setting's settings. The call-in guy's time is precious too or maybe it's just me. RE: Mental Repository (M.R.) - NiX - 08-08-2011 Well then maybe you should consider making a profession out of it. RE: Mental Repository (M.R.) - Serene - 08-08-2011 (08-08-2011, 06:04 PM)NiX Wrote: Well then maybe you should consider making a profession out of it. Nah, ok lang naman eh. As long as it's worth the time, it's fine. I didn't mark it as rant or rave since it was both and mostly a good day for me anyways. It was OK because I already got stuff in return eversince last year and in a way, I'm doing stuff for them in exchange. My sibs and relatives also managed to finally see each other after 10 years. I got a new tower [ika nga ni Mark: 'tanginang kaswertehan yan'] and secured a hunting allowance. BUT it could've been a let down if I went there immediately after receiving the message from weeks ago. So there was no time and money wasted because everything was done in one pass with everybody happy and content. RE: Mental Repository (M.R.) - NiX - 08-08-2011 I mean if there's no one else within the vicinity who has the skills that you do, you might as well make a sideline out of it. There's two in their area and people here are knowledgeable. They only call on me since Antlan's got a day job. I don't have skills, I just apply what I know which is not a lot. Luckily for me, all I get are easy requests. I reject jobs better left to real technicians. But that's a good idea Nix. I think there somewhere near here that offers lessons on computer repair. I'll set it as a last resort if I still don't find a job until next year.. RE: Mental Repository (M.R.) - zero_kanipan - 08-09-2011 rave: i appreciate that my teammates and some officemates voice tell me of their concerns and worries rant: pero taena, hindi ako admin, hindi ko kayo matutulungan at hindi masusulusyonan ang problema nyo kung hindi nyo sasabihin sa kanila >< also how funny a few words can just rub you in all the wrong ways. imma go find something to mutilate. ahahahahahahhahahahahahah laptop agrees...it just started playing a track from higurashi XD RE: Mental Repository (M.R.) - Goat - 08-10-2011 I was trying to fix the lineart one of my older doodles when the electricity suddenly fluctuated. There goes about 2-3 hours wasted. RE: Mental Repository (M.R.) - Mjting - 08-10-2011 rave: yey 2k posts! RE: Mental Repository (M.R.) - zero_kanipan - 08-10-2011 WTF: assistance operations manager has a friend looking for a guy to be interviewed for Totoo TV on TV 5. qualifications: no gf since birth, has a girl he cant make the moves on, has a job. everyone at the office is pushing me to go. i already said no, but they wont give up ~.~ |
