in other forums their theory was that guy was being brainwashed to force to believe that he is dante, but he isn't.

honestly, the original games didn't fail. DMC4, even though it wasn't well liked by the fans like myself, was still a pretty good game AND sold well, so i don't know why would they even want to reboot it.
