Almost every old school AC players went through nail-biting, hair-pulling experiences, especially on part stats/functions and it's definitely the reason why we all love it. I guess we're qualified for being masochists

Here's some things...
Go to a VR test. Get a random design of parts. Try them out, and if you don't like them, get another setup. Try to find a setup and style that you can use well.
After that, go to some easy missions and try it out.
