Have you guys checked out the coming season's Anime reveals? It's almost too crazy, I have like 13 shows on my list, and I consider myself a picky anime viewer.

Gundam: The Witch From Mercury - Because it's Gundam, and I will always watch a Gundam show.

Spy x Family - S1 was really cute, and the standout for this year's anime selection.

Isekai Ojisan - My younger, nostalgia infused self cannot ignore how funny this show has become.

Chainsaw Man - Never read the manga, but everyone's been gushing about how it's really good. Let's hope it doesn't turn into a Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer

My Hero Academy season 6 - I stopped just at the start of season 3, it's become one of those shows where if I don't have anything to watch, I can always go back to this and be content with.

Mob Psycho season 3 - I absolutely loved the second season and how the final arc played out. So I'm looking forward on how they'd build up on that. For sure we'll see older cast members make a return and maybe redeem themselves? (Redemption seems to be a core theme of the show after all)

Jojo's Bizzare Adventure: Stone Ocean - Like Hero Aca, its one of those shows where I'm content they're making more of. I'll watch when there's nothing to watch.

To Your Eternity season 2 - Still finishing season 1, but I'm glad to know there's a season two. Currently liking the first.

Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! ω - Mai guilty pleasure.

Urusei Yatsura (remake) - I'm really curious how they'll translate a classic anime into the modern age.

Fuuto Tantei - Because I watched and enjoyed Kamen Rider W a lot.

Muv-Luv Alternative season 2 - Because I loved the VN a lot, even if the anime is lackluster.

Pop Team Epic season 2 - Season 1 made me laugh in a very twisted way, so I'm very much looking forward to this.
I loved the use of rather obscure MS like the Daughtress from Gundam X, and that talking animal. Overall, I'm actually looking forward to watching a Build Fighters show again all of a sudden.
What do you guys think of this so far?

I will personally recommend this to anyone, old or new Gundam fan, and maybe they'll just develop a taste for free form jazz. The rivalry between Io Fleming and Daryl Lawrence is probably the best rivalry I've read about in any Gundam show (Or any fictional franchise for that mater), and that alone is already worth following.

Are you hype for that VF Draken?

Quote:Kawamori confirmed that both fighters in the visual are "Valkyries" (transforming variable fighters), and he specifically cited the Swedish fighter Saab 35 Draken as an inspiration for the fighter in background. He added that he has been fan of Draken since he was a child.

He also acknowledged that the fighter in the foreground shares a design lineage with previous variable fighters in Macross anime and therefore was less of a challenge to design. By contrast, the background fighter will feature a relatively new transformation scheme that bears little similarity to those of previous Macross variable fighters.

The emcee also noted that the two fighters have exhausts in different colors, and Kawamori explained that this is because the fighters come from different manufacturers. Kawamori also noted that he has been deliberately avoiding more direct design inspirations from current real-life fighters, since stealth considerations have made real fighters look more similar and harder to distinguish from each other.

Kawamori added that this new series will emphasize "Valkyrie vs. Valkyrie," as opposed to previous television series. While video series such as Macross Plus and Macross Zero prominently featured variable fighters against each other, Kawamori has not done this in a Macross television series in a long time.

I'm looking forward to it. Could we see something like Macross Plus all over again?

Quote:In 2016, a catastrophe occurs after a nuclear meltdown from the nearby Odaiba nuclear power plant, contaminating Tokyo, forcing the government to order its citizens to evacuate the city. 20 years later, the city has become a ghost town due to the high levels of radiation and the government has banned entry for anyone. When a distress signal is received from Tokyo, the Self-Defense Forces dispatch 3 girls from the special rescue unit Coppelion to search for survivors. Due to genetic engineering, the Coppelions are impervious to radiation while also possessing special skills.

I've read the manga and I'd liken the whole experience to Dark Souls in terms of trying to uncover the secrets of a long forgotten land (In this case, Tokyo, Japan approximately 20 years after a nuclear fallout). If you were curious about urban exploration of abandoned places, or enjoyed going around when playing STALKER games, you might like this series since I'd liken the experience of reading the manga to those games.

Quote:Due to global warming and rising sea levels of the early 21st century, humanity lost much of the Earth's landmass. At the same time, fleets of powerful sentient ships of unknown origin armed with advanced technology and weapons, known collectively as the "Fleet of Fog", mysteriously appeared and easily vanquished the world's naval forces. The Fleet of Fog impose a worldwide naval and aerial blockade, and thus preventing humanity from traveling across the seas.
In the year 2039, 17 years after the blockade, Gunzō Chihaya is a former student of the Japanese National Marine Academy and Captain of his crew, the Blue Steel fleet. The Blue Steel are infamous for possessing the only Fog submarine to have defected to the human side, the I-401 along its avatar Iona. Gunzō and his crew are hired by a faction of the Japanese government to deliver plans of a powerful weapon that may allow mankind to fight back against the Fleet of Fog to the United States, the only country that did not suffer from the blockade, thus capable of mass-producing it. However, the Blue Steel fleet faces obstacles not only from the Fleet of Fog and their human allies, but from other factions of the government with their own agenda, while gaining allies from both sides to increase their chances against such overwhelming odds.

Notable Mecha anime for this season:

Infinite Stratos
Arpeggio of Blue Steel
Neppu Kairiku Bushi Road
Valrave the Liberator Season 2
Gundam Build Fighters
