Ninja Gaiden speed run
#1
Guy does a complete speed run of the original Ninja Gaiden in 13:49. Speed Demos Archive does not accept speed runs that are played on emulators, so no hacking of save states or the game itself can be done.

For those of you who didn't get to play it, Ninja Gaiden is considered to be one of the more difficult NES titles. Battletoads however, is considered one of the hardest.

Just look at that ninja run!
This is also a punishment for you.
You will be the defender of justice and wear a mask forever,
you won't be able to live as yourself.
You will sacrifice all your happiness for the world.. Eternally..

1337 ninja skills. That guy's good.

Finally, I've seen the ending of this game within my lifetime. I'm happy now. Haha

I got to the ending through playing the game on Nestopia once... but that took me, what? 6 to 7 hours? Them birds are freaking unfair. You jump to the next platform and one bird just happens to conveniently fly past. Boom, you fall to your death.

Now I know the secret though, it's to run like Ryu's never run before! LOL

Haha! Yeah. I kinda noticed that in a lot of old-school games, running like hell works the most in getting through the stages. A guy who did a speed run of Castlevania (the first one) was running (/walking) constantly, and made use of the occasional glitches or shortcuts (like intentionally getting hit by an enemy to help your character get up the next platform) to finish the stage faster.

Technically this ain't a speed run, and it ain't Ninja Gaiden. It's Super Ghosts n' Goblins though, so that qualified as godforsaken-difficult. And it's funny. Go watch.
