WTF?

EDIT: Oh, wait. I get it now. That piece was written by Fox dude, credits should go to him.

Powered exoskeletons would indeed be cool, as they provide the protection of conventional (or is that unconventional?) armor while keeping the flexibility of the human encased inside. Plus with just the right amount of servos working, strength and speed can totally multiply by a huge factor. Imagine running thrice as fast, jumping twice as high, and being four times as strong. Big grin

We'd all end up like these two:

And I told you, it's Grim. Nyahaha

well, i didn't read all of it that's why i thought it was boss g's hehehe.

anyway, powered armor is more practical plus it's cheaper and easier to develop compared to a multiton legged vehicle. more know-how is invested on the latter because it involves a lot of factors with protection and locomotion being the most significant. powered armor removes(or reduces) the locomation problem.

lol LOL

but seriously though, we would most likely end up with something like the kind of powered armor Robert Heinlein envisioned for his Starship Troopers novel.

we have a similar discussion in the Front Mission section of <a href='http://moshpit.fullborg.com/sandbox2/index.php' target='_blank'>The Moshpit</a> .

I dunno. Judging from Fox's penchant for all things unexpected, who knows?

Yeah, its a song by that Russian girl group but its not an original of theirs. The song was actually first recorded by the British band The Smiths way back in 1985. It was also covered by rock group Love Spit Love and used in the soundtrack of the witchy movie "The Craft" and was also used as the opening song to the series "Charmed".

Other groups to have covered the song are Everclear, Quicksand, Hundred Reasons and Snake River Conspiracy. Don't get me wrong though: i care very little for T.a.T.u's cover of this song and i still consider LSL's rendition to be one of the better ones out there.

Back to the topic: Well, yeah, i agree. With the available resources nowadays and our current state of technology, Powered Armor could very well be utilized by infantry within the next few decades. However, since that kind of technology will be quite a drain on military resources, they just might restrict it to elite forces or to selected units. Actually, i've heard that the US military is already developing some sort of personal armor for some of their units but theres not much info to go around right now.

On a side note since the Hellraiser mentioned Starship Troopers, the lead character of Juan "Johnny" Rico is actually a Pinoy! I don 't get it why they turned him into a Argentinan. >Sad
