I think i saw sometime like this on the Discovery channel sometime last year, that series about the ten greatest battle tanks ever built or something like that...

I vote for the German LEOPARD 2. I dunno, maybe i'm just a sucker for German technology.

the merkava has always been unique among the MBTs since it was designed based on lessons learned from pervious wars. also, the israelis seem to blend NATO and russian armor concepts (passive and active protection).

i'm also a fan of the leopard 2 since it's powered by a diesel engine. fuel economy ftw! it also looks badass with the applique armor on, especially the sweddish upgrade.

The Leopard 2 is pure ownage. Sure it's slightly (very slightly) inferior to the M1 in terms of armor and firepower... but I hear it's cheaper to produce and maintain and it doesn't guzzle gas like the M1 does... then again, nothing guzzles gas like the M1...

the leopard 2 and the abrams are fitted with the same gun. the difference is in the actual rounds that they fire.

i choose merkava because it has survive a lot of threats and the israelis built it from experiences they had in tank warfare

MY fave is the T-90S, its got its own missile countermeasures and reactive armor plus it can fire a variety of projectiles from APDS to guided missiles.
yeah, merkava is the most experienced, too much hate came along with it. and its turret is uglier than the previous merkavas. I updated its pics btw, i posted merkava3 earlier.
Leopard would easily win because of style points.
