Fanfic rules and regulations
#1
For the literary-minded out there, this is the place to go for fan-written fiction stories. Actually, not just fiction. Poems, free verses or any form of literature is welcome. The Raven Republic is a very lenient place and the Writer's Corner is no exception. If you have any writing that you want to share with the rest of the place, just post it here. Yep, you heard me right. Any writing at all, even non-Armored Core related ones. Feel free to get the creative juices flowing.

However, there are certain rules that have to be followed. Even given the relative freedom we enjoy here, we can't go too far now, can we?

1. Be careful of what you write. Please be cautious on your fic-writing because inappropriate content may spark personal flames with one another. Be considerate and think of other people when you write.

2. Anything goes: Cursing, bad words, sexual content and graphic depictions of violence are allowable. If your fic does contain any of the above, then please do warn us about them. Either at the beginning of the fic or at the start of the chapter that contains said material. If your fic has any sexual content at all (lemon or lime scenes), do give a warning at the beginning of the fic so that people who are easily offended by stuff like that will know which parts to skip. Another thing is that if you do include that kind of stuff, try not to go over the top and give all-too vivid depictions of what's going on.

3. Comments pertaining to race/ religion issues should be kept to a minimum. Even though this is a primarily Filipino web community, we do have members from other nationalities. Racist/Religious topics and references to them in your fanfics are allowable as long as they aren't too degrading, derogatory or offensive. However If you do place them in your fic, apologize in advance and say that it's just part of your fic or your character's opinions, not your own. Race remarks such as Nips, Krauts, Chinks, Limeys, Flips and Russkies are tolerable but please keep them to a minimum. If something goes wrong with the Writer's Corner and a flame war starts, it's my head that'll be on the guillotine.

4. Again, anything goes. That includes fics written from stuff other than AC. Other games, animes, movies and whatnot can also be made into a fic and posted here. However, i ask that if you do post something that's not about AC, please say so at the line below the title so that we would know what anime, game or movie it came from. Also, since this is an AC message boards, do keep the number of non-AC fics lower than the AC fics themselves.

5. Do give proper credits to the makers/owners/company of the fic you are writing. If possible, place a disclaimer at the beginning of the fic stating that you don't own the series you are basing the fic from. Please include acknowledgement of any copyright ownership of the fan-fics that you are writing. It's all legal stuff, boring as hell but doing so will prevent any of us writers from getting sued. We don't want that to happen now, do we?

6. For the readers and reviewers: Keep things simple and clean when commenting or posting reviews. For the writers: Do comment on other writers' stories, and give only helpful insight. Interaction is the site's heart and soul, after all, it is a message board. Give out only helpful/constructive comments that can help improve the quality of writing. To the writers themselves, please be open-minded when receiving comments. If someone does write you a scathing review, try to accept things graciously. No one-liners or posts not related to the topic. Well, they're allowable but i ask you not to do it often.

Addendum: Due to the separation of the writings and comments on them into different forums, please include a link to your discussion topic after every chapter/installment of your work. Also, starting from now, create a discussion topic for every fic that you post, to keep things clean (this is fics and short stories only, different poems can have all their comments consolidated in one topic).

7. Plagiarism is a crime. Do i even have to elaborate on that. But then again, they do say that it's also the sincerest form of flattery. If you are posting fics that are done by other people, ask permission from them first if it's okay to use and post their fic then give credit where credit is due. Try not to flatter other writers, please?

8. Have fun. Fic writing is done only by a few people and is a good way to express your inner thoughts and any creative ideas you have. None of us are doing fics for profit and we just want to share our ideas with the rest of the world.

That's all i can think of for now. If you have any other rules that you know of, just say so.

Happy writing, people!
