Lightly armoured quadruple AC capable of doing tremendous damage at short ranges. Unsuitable for aerial engagements as it must remain grounded to maximise usage of its weapons. Vulnerable to missiles.

This is a specialised design built around the ARIES energy shotgun arms, an energy hog that could melt most opponents in seconds, but will render its user immobile at the same time. Fire the ARIES in mode one for the best energy efficiency, and only use the batteries when doing burst damage. The unusual RGB combo offers excellent boost durations and allows for some degree of mobility while using the linear cannon.

Interesting. I never really made use of ANY weapon arms, but I'm curious of how the gen/rad/booster combo work to make use of the shotty arms? It sorta deviates from the norm I know of.

ARIES is an all or nothing part in my experience, with generators below the capacity of FUDOH/ORCHID/KUJAKU you get only one or two shots out of it before red-zoning, especially during pitched battles with all the boosting. Both FUDOH and ORCHID are far too slow to allow for its user to recover quickly, which leaves KUJAKU.

This RGB combo was made to take advantage of KUJAKU's above average energy stats while mitigating its horrible calorific value - HAZEL was mostly there for its weight, and the bot never heats up from boosting alone as BIRDIE was the coolest booster with the lowest equip drain. With this combo then, you can get four to five shots, more if you pop the batteries in the middle of the burst.

Since using the weapon arms bars us from using most weapons, and that missiles are unreliable at close ranges in which this bot operates (save for NYMPHE), we must use either a tank or a quad for the back cannon. Heavy tanks are too slow, with the missing defence from the weapon arms, die too quickly, while light tanks depend on boost "jumps" heavily, and just do not have the surplus energy, that leaves us with quad. GAVIAL legs, even with its many shortcomings (heaviest quad legs with the worst defences, WTF From?), shine here with its low "walking" drain.

Now onto the effectiveness of ARIES, DPS wise, think dual FINGER machine guns, only they chew up tanks too and have enough ammo to kill most ACs two times over. Still, piloting this bot requires a great deal of resource management to know when to burst, and it can be hard-countered by flyers or missile boats.

Oh, Oh, got it. I never really deviate from the standard Gen/Rad/Booster combos as I predominantly play bipeds, but that does make sense here. Very, very nice novel concept and design. I'll try to test it out once I get my ps2 back to at least expand my skillset in LR. Still lots to learn after all these years. Thanks dude!

The problem is that hypothetically you'd never get in range to use the Aries arms with Birdie 1 boosters. Not to mention that Gavial is already too slow even with standard boosters.

If you wanted all or nothing big damage on a quad might as well use LX.

Here is a modified version with much improved boost speed (~300 -> ~400) and energy defence (~1628 -> ~1766).

With the change in the RGB combo, burst damage is far less impressive without battery support - the LGL somewhat rectifies that issue. Incidentally, it bears an uncanny resemblance to the Prototype Quad Pulverizer from almost six years ago.
