Flamethrowers
#1
Back in AC3 and ACSL, flamethrowers can decimate an AC within seconds. The combined heat and rapid damage can even outdamage any weapon.

Now that in ACNX - ACNB, the lock capabilty has been removed and as it seems, the range has decreased. Now in ACLR's increased movement speed, can they still be used?

Well in NX they were deadly CQ weapons due to the heavy significance of heat and cooling. They were a sure fire way to get your opponent into OPD, and then from there it was just a matter of constantly pegging them down with high stun weapons.

In NB and LR, I haven't found any real use for them in competitive play, actuallly. Not only has their collective effect been nerfed because of the toning down of heat issues, but like you said, wala na rin yung maganda nilang tracking. Bah.

For fun though, they're great. Big grin

Seriously, we should try out a 'flamethrower-only' party, lol.

I think it was in LR or NB (or both), one of the left arm flamethrowers granted the AC a ridiculously big lockbox; it was some sort of glitch. But that was taken out in LR.

I dunno... Flamethrowers are probably only effective against non-ob heavy tanks. Otherwise, they're totally useless in my eyes.

Oh yeah baby! Big grin

I play in that parking lot all the time in SL, it's low roof and confined space prevents targets from getting too far from you. When played strictly for fun, it's one of the most enjoyable maps in my book.

Carrying a flamethrower in there's almost like having a howie.

Crispy ACs. XD

Rapid fire howie that is XD Add MG as right arm and w00t!
Though in LR, it hardly seems to break any part <_< You would be losing an arm or your legs just for trying to put your opponent in overheat status with the flamethrower...

I like trying on certain weapons to see how effective they are. I don't know about some ravens out there but the flamethrower just isn't 4 me. -_-

Hehe this actually happened eariler. And like I said then, for something fun and retarded, flamethrowers are awesome. Big grin

For anything else though, I think you'll find that they belong to the worst and lowest tier that any weapons could achieve.

Look I quoted myself lolz. XD

Alright, after some SERIOUS testing, Mix, Tim, Rick, and I unanimously agree that...

FLAMETHROWERS ARE UTTER UTTER GARBAGE.

1. They don't lock.
2. Because it's nearly impossible to engulf an AC in napalm long enough, it's highly unlikely that you'll be able to cause an overheat.
3. Even if you manage to cause an overheat, it's still hard to maintain the heat of the opponent.
4. Heating is pretty much all that flamethrowers are good for... the shell damage it causes is completely negligible.
5. Too many other reasons that make it teh suxxorz.
