My grandfather on my father's side of the family has emphysema and is a chain smoker. He was brought to the hospital yesterday due to complications.
Last time I talked to him, he said he's happy and content with what his children [my dad and his brothers] have become. He's a seaman/cook and everytime he's home before and even after he retired, we'd talk about the wacky shit he's done on board. The greatest lesson he's taught me is to never mess with the people who handle you food. ()
He's only 65 and I hope he doesn't die yet. Lots of things will change if he goes.
We call it the bon-bon cannon.
