Right now I'm listening to a professor's streaming lecture on my uni's site because the hall we were supposed to use was too small. He's very boring even in data packet form. For some reason, I thought of a topic to write about here since I'm posting way more than I normally do on any forum.
Here's one of mine, in script form. It happened last year. It's about how I got my 360.
PotatoW: *logs on to WoW a few days before bday*
Guild Leader: I have an announcement! All members that do not have 360s will be kicked out by next week because the FPS team we agreed to work on sucks!
PotatoW: Okay! Good riddance in a week!
Then on my bday...
PotatoW: *gets big box delivered to dorm*
It was a 360. The birthday card said, "We (WoW guild) all want to frag you. Happy Birthday! - From GL"
Then I logged on and streamed a random bunch of invectives at them.
So anyway! Tell me about your experiences. I like to read fun things.

My most memorable gaming experience was meeting leperman for the first time (minus the gay innuendo).
I posted about Armored Core in another Filipino gaming forum several years ago when this guy named leperman posted regarding my design. He was the first Filipino I had ever seen (other than Maitreya) that actually sounded like he knew what he was talking about regarding Armored Core. We chatted a bit and eventually agreed to meet and play AC.
When we finally did play, I was so happy to find another AC player that could give me a run for my money. Heck, I was so satisfied about being able to play AC with someone other than Maitreya that I could have retired from AC back then... until of course Raven Republic was established. That led to many more memorable gaming moments.
EDIT: I wish someone would send me a next-gen console for free too. -_-

Oh. Here's another one since I'm very bored. *spams you all* Hope you don't mind.
The very first time I got hit on on an online game, which happened on about the second day I think of a dikuMUD almost a decade ago.
PotatoW: *gets OOC messaged by some avatar of light dude in the same vnum* (It says, "So, are you new?") Yes!
Avatar: *PK's PotatoW for no reason* wats ur real name?
Potato: Apple!
Avatar: u a girl?
Potato: Yes!
Avatar: wana be my gf?
Potato: I'm only 13!
Avatar: its fine. wana be my gf?
Potato: give me 1mil gold 1st
Avatar: *rez's Potato and PKs her again, like 3 times over then leaves*
And then after that I quit the game and never played anything online for another 5 years. I hope none of you guys are like that! I really don't think any of you are though! Hope I didn't sound too nerdy, and that you know what dikuMUD is : D

NiX, no matter how many times you narrate that story it still gives off that 'love as close as you can get without being ghei vibe'
My favorite would be winning the RO Philippine Championship with Unholy (RO guild). We really worked hard for it for months.
Hm. Also, When I was a little kid I finished Mario World in under an hour using Star Road. I was really happy! Same with finishing Legend of Zelda: A link to the past, in a day XD Oh, and going 20-0 once at a lan shop while playing CS. I was feared in the mansion stage for all of 5 minutes! And then someone better came along and kicked my arse.
LOL. Ang babaw ko.

Same here, because he introduced me to AC. Then I met you all because of it.

well, I won't hit on you...but I'll be sure to make perverted remarks
My most memorable gaming experience was probably when I went over to a friends house. he was playing some game for the N64(Chameleon Twist 2, I think it was called), and couldn't beat one of the bosses.
I picked up the controller, and within 3 tries, beat the boss, with no knowledge of how the game worked or played.

I don't really have one particular memorable gaming moment, but I do have a number of gaming highlights.
Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram
I was good at Virtual On's sequel, Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram, to the point that I've never lost to someone in that game in the arcade using my primary unit. I never made an attempt to join any of the local groups, because I didn't know they existed. Flash forward 2 years later when I discovered a now defunct Virtual On site (virtualon.net) who's events forum is almost exclusively run by the many local groups (uso ang hanapan ng away noon sa usapan doon eh). I read their archives and discovered they were talking about some mysterious Apharmd S (A unit in the game) pilot who just mysteriously beat people in 2 different Virtual On arcades (The only 2 places I go to that have VO: OT).
It didn't really take long for me to realize who they were talking about, they even mistook me for someone else I help train with the same unit. I was especially amused when they started giving nicknames to some of my special moves. Needless to say, I was some sort of elusive secret boss to these people :p.
Eventually I let myself known, and eventually I was beaten by the no.1 guy in the whole VO circuit after meeting with all of them.
Gundam: Renpou vs. Zeon DX (Note: this is an arcade game, and all of the actions I'll mention were done in public)
The only game I've ever played in character while in the game and off the game. Me and my friends we're role-playing MS pilots and whenever we'd meet we'd always send out emergency distress signals to each other's base of operations through high-level or low-level frequencies (Call one's mobile, or send an SMS respectively). We'd talk like this:
Quote:Comand! This is major Boa, we are en route to mission staging point. My squad consists of Lt. Mikko and 3 more new recruits. We are in transport via hover craft on EDSA Valley. What are the coordinates of Maj. Dominguez?
Translation: He's going to the arcade with Mikko and 3 other friends, they're currently on the MRT headed to Megamall and he's asking where I am.
We'd even decorate our game cards with personal IDs and insignias. We'd scream when we got hit or died in the game and actually talk to each other as if it were a real battle. Those who didn't play were tasked to give orders on the background, they're tasked to tell us what to do and where to go in real-time on a battle field stage. We'd call different parts of the mall based on the different functions of military bases (Food court = Mess hall, Parking area = Hanger, Arcade = Mission simulator. etc.). Unfortunately, the arcade closed down and we said goodbye to the game. On the final day the arcade was open, my friends sent this to all of us:
Quote:Today, the great invasion is set. A Boa Kou will fall! The greatest battle of our generation is at hand. Many soldiers, men, women, enemies, and allies will lose their lives today. We are all brothers and sisters suffering from the sickening symptoms of war. It does not matter which side we are on, war will always be wrong. And we must end this now, today! At all costs!
There is no victory, nor life in war! There is no future, no hope and only despair in war. There is no immortality in the life of a soldier, but there is eternity in the death of one. A hero cannot be born, only created by the thousands of those who suffered for the same cause. The great invasion has been set, we shall soon find out which side shall carry on the burden of life...
On that day and in our final game, we never died and we got the highest score ever in the arcade at 35000+ points. The messages we sent to each other are still on my mobile until now.
Armored Core
Still going on... Well, in huge part because of RR :p
Nix and AEA1 were a big part of it in the really early years though XD

there was this mission in homeworld where some giant device is surrounded by probably a hundred ion cannon frigates in a defensive sphere formation. after 1 week at the internet cafe and 500 pesos of what should have been lunch money, i was able to collect at least 30 of them frigates hahahaha....

When my mom played Clock Tower 2. I was a kid back then (2nd Grade, Elementary) and I saw the scissorman chase my mom. My mom got confused and the scissorman stabbed her and it scared me shitless.

Hahah nice one goat. I never imagined that any of your parents had actually played Clock Tower. That was one scary, albeit awkward, game.

first time I played C&C I didn't know about the deploy button so I finished the first few games lugging a big truck who's purpose was beyond me ... that was until I saw someone playing c&c on a shop ... I silently took a mental note to actually DEPLOY the freaking MCV
hahah my first AC game was the very first one but in japanese ... so I went thru very single mission with no actual idea in mind as to the mission was ... finished it but 70% of the secrets illuded me ... but at least I got the sawa...

Clock Tower 3 sucks imo. Yung scissor twins hindi scissor hawak. Blade lang na hinating scissor. Tapos pagmay boss nagiging dalagang Akazuchin Cha-Cha na may pana pang nalalaman.
