recent balance changes.

TALON CHANGES:
-Max damage for PRIMARY SPECIAL:
WAS: 150 HP
NOW: 100 HP

-SNIPER RIFLE PICK UP RESPAWN TIME:
WAS: 30 seconds
NOW: 75 seconds

-NUKE XP- HITTING A STATUE:
WAS: 45 P
NOW: 75 HP

-AXEL PRIMARY ATTACK- INITIAL CRUSH DAMAGE
WAS: 70 (then went up to 80, then 90, then 100 with each successive crush in a time limit)
NOW: 50 damage for FIRST crush, then 80,90, 100.


most of the changes seems good, i hope they keep this up


this my suggested balance changes though, it almost kinda matches up
some of my ideas or suggestions for car/weapon balance. (updated 3/13/2012)

CARS:

Crimson Fury
-“Flamethrower” fireball damage increase to 24
-“Shockwave” damage increase to 30

Kamikaze
-“Flame Thrower” fireball damage increase to 20
-“Shock Freeze” damage increase to 25

Axel
-“Crowd Controller” damage increase to 30

Warthog
-“Super Crush” damage increase to 35

Darkside
-“Darkside Slam” Maximum Damage increase (From Rest) to 68
-“Darkside Slam” Maximum Damage increase (Max Speed) to 88
-“Semi Mines” damage increase to 25 per mine

Death Warrant
-Earlier and longer charge frame time window on the 2nd "max" charge on “Zoomy Rockets” special which deals the 70+ damage.
-provide a noticeable sound icon or visual indicator when achieving 2nd max charge on “Zoomy Rockets” special which deals the 74+ damage. (similar sound to swarmer missiles)

Roadkill
-“Drop Mines” increase damage to 30 per mine
-Special regeneration rate improve to 35 seconds
-Earlier and longer charge frame time window on the 3rd "max" charge on “Chain Gun + Blood Missiles” special which deals the 120+ damage.
-provide a noticeable sound icon or visual indicator when achieving 3rd max charge on “Chain Gun + Blood Missiles” special which deals the 120+ damage. (similar sound to swarmer missiles)

Sweet Tooth
-“Laughing Ghost” damage increase to 50
-decrease range of mega guns lock during “Sweet Bot”.
-“Head Throw” attack during “Sweet Bot" damage increase to 30
-Special regeneration rate slower to 35 seconds. (same as shadow)

Junkyard Dog
-“Team Health Drop” stage 1 max heal adjusted to 40 points (not percentage)
-“Team Health Drop” stage 2 max heal adjusted to 80 points
-“Shockwave Taxi” should also be accessible during team based games.
-Special regeneration rate slower to 35 seconds. (same as shadow)

Talon
-Energy recharge time decrease to 45 sec. (same rate as reaper)
-“Tri-Gunner” total damage decrease to 100 per special.
-max speed reduce to 80 (same as axel)
-max turbo speed reduce to 120 (same as roadboat)
-maximum turbo time decrease to 30 seconds (same as reaper)
-decrease range of mega guns lock
-Health decrease to 110

WEAPONS:

Homing missile
-damage decrease to 10

Sniper
-Time Until Body Shot adjusted to (Stationary ~ Moving): 2 ~ 2 seconds (2 seconds or earlier will be considered "miss")
-Time Until Blow Out adjusted to (Stationary ~ Moving): 5 ~ 6.5 seconds
-Time Until Gas Tank adjusted to (Stationary ~ Moving): 7 ~ 12.75 seconds
-Time Until Head Shot adjusted to (Stationary ~ Moving): 9 ~ 19 seconds
-Enemy player can see the status of the sniper aim by also being able to see same the aiming reticle indicator by the player using the sniper
-Tracking change to "narrow frontal cone" (to help players aim at the middle and keep constant lock at desired target similar to the narrow cone of the shotgun pickup, but obviously have better range)
-decrease snipe time to 30 seconds

ABILITIES

Absorption shield
-player who uses absorption shield versus juggernaut/roadkill/darkside mines, should not get a special in return.
-player who uses absoprtion shield versus freeze/rearfreeze/mines/supermines will now receive the equivalent energy when using them instead of receiving full energy.


SIDEARMS

Magnum Revolver
-Tracking improved to "narrow frontal cone" (narrow cone similar to the shotgun pickup)

12-ga. Shotgun
-Tracking improved to "narrow frontal cone"

Laser Pistol
-Tracking improved to "narrow frontal cone"

OTHERS

Enable change of headlight colors on car custom menu

they are primarily updating on the server issues atm, it was surprising that they launched a balance patch.

aside from the launch date patch which nerfed meatwagon's special from 50 to 40, this is the 2nd "balance" patch.

they nerfed axel's special damage which is dominant only at FFA games, and nerfed sniper weapons in general to reduce the abuse of snipers and talons.

talons on the other hand got a damage nerf, although i think it is not enough atm.

I wish reaper was more playable. I'm only having fun setting the chainsaw on fire, but most of the time just regret using him.

reaper is low tier, but i have seen great players who wins Free for alls with reaper.

and reaper has a very fast energy regen rate, plus with smart/tactical play you can get away with it

the top ranked player name "andy_french" primarily uses reaper.

ps: dont bother with R_I_O_T's rank, he is a point pusher.

JUNKYARD DOG-MORE XP FOR HEALING TEAMMATES
CURRENT: Handful of current numbers but the just is they are too low in our opinion and thus don't motivate players to use the 'healing class' aspect of Junkyard Dog in team games. We feel these numbers will change that while making sure JYD doesn't become over powered in terms of XP.
Weap - Bonuses - Team Death Match
CHANGES:
Player Given: 5xp
Upon Healing: first 20%HP and 5XP for every successive 20%HP (multiple vehicles can be healed at the same time for bigger XP bonus)

Weap - Bonuses - Team HUNTED
Player Given 5XP for healing 20%HP of teammate.
Player Given: 20XP for healing first and every following 20% of TEAM'S HUNTED.

Weap - Bonuses - Nuke
Player Given 5XP for healing 20%HP of teammate.
Player Given 20XP for healing first and every following 20%HP of TeamMate Carrying Faction Leader.

Weap - Bonuses - Team Last Man Standing
Player Given 10XP for healing 20%HP of teammate.

WINNING A GAME OF NUKE XP
CURRENT: 100XP
CHANGE TO: 600XP
REASON: Nuke games not played enough and many folks online say that the 30 min time limit that yields tiny XP for most players is the reason. Here's the exchange between Bill and I that brought us to agree on this number:


the all caps part is copied pasted in Jaffe's blog. as some changes are tweaked in the final patch version.

Jaffe also specifically responded to my calling and Roadkill was buffed. If I didnt post anything, he might had missed Roadkill in the patch.

He stated that the changes can be immediately tweak since its server side and could possibly be changes on monday base on feedback.



Although i think Roadkill is a "little" bit strong, but the megagun nerf and other changes are incredibly good and spot on.

He also stated that, he is currenly requesting to Sony to release a multiplayer game version that only costs $10 to play the game online, just as KILLZONE 3 had a multiplayer-only version sold.
