Nice quote there at the end: Cloths of Heaven Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths, Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and the half-light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams. - William Butler Yeats Anyway, I completely agree with the guy's speech. Education as we know it is too full of memorizing useless facts and getting students to learn things they're not interested in at all. Because of the system, you get students who won't show any interest at all in what they're doing even if they may be the most talented people out there at doing other things.

http://www.thestar.com/news/world/articl...uccess-yet Quote:Scientists say the Gulf of Mexico spill has now leaked far more oil than the Exxon Valdez disaster — maybe even three-and-a-half times as much. Powerful 7.2-magnitude quake strikes off Vanuatu http://news.xinhuanet.com/english2010/wo...319901.htm hmmm...... The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a tsunami warning for areas of the South Pacific including the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and New Caledonia following the earthquake. "An earthquake of this size has the potential to generate a destructive tsunami that can strike coastlines in the region near the epicenter within minutes to hours," the tsunami center said, adding that it was not yet clear whether a tsunami had actually been generated. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ http://www.vancouversun.com/news/admits+...story.html The new estimates suggested the oil was gushing out at a rate of between 12,000 to 19,000 barrels a day — much higher than the previous estimate of 5,000 barrels a day. Under such a scenario, that would mean between 18.6 million gallons and 29.5 million gallons of oil have seeped into the Gulf — way higher than the 11 million gallons of crude spilled in the 1989 Exxon Valdez disaster off Alaska. With 100 miles (160 kilometers) of Louisiana coastline already contaminated, there are fears U.S. officials may order the burning of the state's unique marshlands, home to a variety of endangered birds and mammals. I have some interestingly wtfnews that i don't wanna post here and claim as 'ABSOLUTE TRUTH' since i haven't read/seen it in news reports. I work in Fairmont Hotel YVR Airport. Being as such, i get to meet/see/talk to interesting people if i get the chance whenever i'm assigned to work in the buffet....Long story short, i was able to talk to someone who works in the oil drilling company, he didn't specifically say what company *i didn't ask* but interestingly....from what he said...all that shitty/oil spill could've been avoided by a $1.5M valve but errr....it wasn't installed....... Another grim warning that came from him, that is hard for me to believe...is that...in 10 years *rough estimate* he predicted that there would be a need to wear gas masks......reasons being that the amount of oil that leaked underwater would disperse alot faster since there are UNDERWATER CURRENTS that take the OIL to places that can't be monitored.....but the effects would be greatly felt...what effects? Killing SHITLOADS OF PLANKTON which produces TONS of O2.We're a WATER BASED PLANET....we're kinda FUCKED...SINCE most of the O2 IN THE EARTH....IS PRODUCED IN THE OCEANS. Oh and regarding what i said about that dude who works in the oil drilling company that i foolishly didn't ask the name of...including the dude who told me....well....i hope it won't happen. He was definitely telling his story sincerely as i see immense amount of disgust in his eyes and also the flow of the conversation that i had with him, *in my opinion* HE really KNOWS HIS STUFF. As he left, he told me he's going to quit and go study *insert forgotten name of complicated name of the course but is related to renewable energy 'stuff' * Doom and Gloom aside..... if we're gonna have to wear gas masks......might as well make them cool right?
