Like I mentioned in the 'Your Room' thread, I have something of a sneaker fetish. I've built up a decent number of shoes over the span of several years because I take good care of them -- not because I buy new ones that often. But yes, if I had unlimited resources, I'll admit that I'd probably snag every pair of kicks to catch my attention. That'd actually be the case right now, if not for my equally overpowering sensibility. Sigh.
I don't think I'll ever be able to match THESE GUYS though.
I hadn't bought any new sneakers in the past 2 years for practicality's sake. But the sneaker love suddenly got revived when I was able to bag some Adidas Tokios, which retailed at 4000+, for only 1999.00 last weekend. The timing was great too, since it'll make a good replacement for my aging Adidas Crosses, which I actually had on when I made the purchase. The salesguy had a weird smile, as if to tell me that I'm buying a shoe I'm already wearing. I wanted to say that that's sort of the point though they're not really the same. But whatever. He doesn't have to understand.
Generally, I prefer really sleek shoes that are either track or football-inspired. Nothing too over-the-top or too colorful, but different enough to stand out. Stuff that I'd be able to wear whether I'm in a plain t-shirt or long-sleeves. The brand generally doesn't matter for as long as I like what I see. I'm not really into Chucks, Vans slip-ons, Sanuks, or bulky basketball shoes though. But that's just me. Oh, and I especially loathe Crocs. -_-
What I've wanted for some time already but don't have yet is a good pair of (still sleek) hi-tops. Definitely hi-tops for my next buy.
Wow, this turned into a monster post/blog of sorts, didn't it? That's passion for you, I guess.
Well enough about me. What do you guys normally wear? What do you like but can't have? And maybe add in the stuff you're planning on buying too! Pictures would be great.

I don't have a particular shoe I want, when I go buy I usually just go to a mall, look around in different shops, then just get one that catches my attention. I don't even know the names of my shoes. That being said, I was into signature basketball shoes before in HS, now, I'm pretty much into sneakers, and I'm looking for a replacement pair of pairs for my aging pair.

Dunks are still sneakers. =P Did you go through the whole Jordan series or something? That's an expensive hobby. Hahahah.
EDIT: Oh, and shoe names are just on the box. And with most Adidas shoes in the retro line, the name is right on the side.

Nix, if you happen to pass by my house again next time I'll show you my brother's shoe collection. You'll probably find a few interesting ones in there. He has more than 20 pairs already.
Edit: I have... 2.

Awesome. Would love to see it. I'd probably go up to 20 pairs too if I count the dress shoes and loafers. But yeah, numbers are kept down because of massive restraint.

I'll take some pictures of my stuff when I get home.
I'm more of a Nike guy than an adidas one, although I do appreciate the style and history of adidas, and I've owned Superstars in the past. Also, I dig some Vans and Puma shoes. Here's a list of all the stuff I've owned over the years:
adidas Superstar 3Gs (2 pairs, both gone )
Converse Chucks (2 pairs, one high cut, one low)
Gola Harriers
Nike Dunk Highs (2 pairs)
Nike Dunk SBs (2 pairs, one gone)
Puma slip-ons
Vans slip-ons (2 pairs)
I love Dunks. I think they're the best looking sneakers ever. I'd also like to own a pair of Jordan 1s (either the black/red or red/white colorways) and Air Force Ones (all white!) in the future.

I used to wear basketball shoes during my elementary and high school days. One of the fringe benefits of having relatives abroad was the yearly padala. I used to get regular updates on what new stuff the Jordan sneaks came out with.
Then came college, new outlook on life also demanded a new change of style. So for the majority of the past decade, it's been black Chucks with black laces all the way, with some Vans skate shoes thrown in the mix. The Chucks are pretty durable, with one pair lasting for years at a time. For the skate shoes, the ones i usually get are the ones from Geoff Rowley's lineup, although the last pair i bought were from Adio.
I've always wanted to get something like the Adidas ones that Freddie Mercury used to wear but after finding out what they really were, i think i'll just go for a regular pair of white Superstars.

As far as basketball shoes go, yeah, the Nike Dunks look really good. They have a simple elegance to them unlike many other bball shoes. But since I don't like basketball, I don't really feel like any of those are for me.
But even though I said I like sleek designs, I'm actually starting to like a lot of the newer ones with bulkier flat soles.
Mix, the Gola Harriers are cool. It's funny though that most of the major brands seem to have counterparts to it.

And in 2015, I'm definitely getting one of these:

What base color do you prefer?
I've seen Adidas Sambas in pretty much any Adidas store and any specialty shoe store such as Shoe Salon.

Clockwise from top left to right:
Black high-cut Chucks
University Blue Big Nike Highs (essentially remodeled Dunks)
Black/White Nike Dunk Highs
Blue/Black Gola Harriers
White Puma slip-ons
Original checkered Vans slip-ons
Blue/White plaid Vans slip-ons
White low-cut Chucks
My one surviving pair of Dunk SB Lows was too dirty. Thanks to this thread, I've realized two things: I've become quite delinquent in taking care of my shoes, and my current lineup lacks color... and more Nike Dunk SB Lows.
Time to change that.

Awesome set of kicks, Mix! Funny, it's like we took our pix on the same floor.
What's the diff between the Dunk SB and the Bball Dunks? Is the SB the same as the Low, but with a velcrow strap at the top? If I'm to get a bulky shoe, it might as well be this one. EDIT: Checked it out. So it's the inner padding that's different? That's it?
Some sneaks for geeks:

Anyone know where I can find specialty laces locally? All I've seen are the usual blue, black, and brown from sports stores.
