If you complain about it, the reason you get is "network congestion" or "faulty phone wiring" or "hardware inadequacies". I asked someone who works for a company that designs software for PLDT.

Angels, demons, God, and the heckmaster are telling me to smack my goddamned &%#king modem rather than calling the service hotline for troubleshooting. It's starting to piss me off with slow-ass downloads and streaming. A 2.5+gb should just take around 3-5 hours, though mine takes around countless clock spins.

Punch your modem! XD

I often restart my connection whenever the speed becomes low. Sometimes it helps sometimes it doesn't. My PLDT connection is often having that problem when it comes to torrents (Even if there are a lot of peers and seeders), but direct HTTP DLs seem to have no problem.

What other ISP would you recommend? Preferably one that gives you more bangs per buck.

As far as ISPs go, I can say I'm still pretty happy with Globe. There was a time when I had to reset my modem every 2 or so hours so I had a guy come over and fix it. It's been consistent ever since. I'm paying (okay fine, my dad is) for 384kbps but I consistently get speeds well over 500kpbs. Downtime is pretty rare too. Good enough for me. Or maybe it's cuz I'm from the south.

Promised speed, 384 kbps. Max speed reached, 500~kbps. Globe's doing pretty well, compared to PLDT.
